This was also my very first time visiting any Guitar Center since I live in Hawaii and they don't have any stores there. I went there to buy a guitar for my son, and since they have a big inventory I figured that would be the best place for him to try some and decide which one he likes. The staff was friendly and gave us room to try different guitars. After my son played one he liked I put it on lay away so they could remove it off the floor for me to pick up later. I go in later that day to pick up the guitar (didn't tell my son I was going to buy it as a Christmas present) and I also buy a practice amp, a strap, a clip-on tuner, and hard case. In other words, it was a decent sale. So I tried to negotiate some sort of discount by asking if they could throw a guitar gig bag or setup with the purchase. The employee said sure, for $25 for the setup and $45 for the gig bag. Most guitar places offer free setups upon purchase of a guitar, I expected GC to be any different., also most entry level guitars come with a gig bag. It was disappointing especially after such a decent sale. I tried the guitar and decide that the factory setup is not bad if a bit on the low action side so I passed on the setup, and the gig bag. After I get back to my son's home I realize I was sold the wrong case, this was upsetting because the idea was to put the guitar inside the case and surprise him. I go back to GC and they apologized for selling me the wrong case and the bad news were that they didn't have a case that would fit that guitar (Jackson King V) so I had no choice but to order one and wait four days to come in. This time the employee gave me a $20 discount because of all the trouble. I should of asked for cash but I was ok with putting the credit in a GC gift card. So the three stars are because of the spotty customer service, otherwise this is a great place to come browse music instruments, it feels like a musician's candy store that's for sure. Just don't expect stellar customer service or paying anything less than sticker price.

Although I had some music background, I really didn't know anything about singing and she patiently brought me from not knowing chest voice and head voice to being able to confidently sing throughout my entire range. There were times I really struggled with understanding singing and Jennifer was always patient and encouraging. And I get to spend some time each lesson working on singing any song I'd like to work on. That's fun! I play keyboards and guitar in some local bands, and sing backup, and I've gotten a lot of feedback about how much my singing has improved since I started taking lessons from Jennifer. I feel like my lessons with her are my secret weapon for getting really good at singing! I thought that music schools were mainly geared towards children, but the quality of instruction was way more than adequate for learning voice as an adult and helping me with the singing I currently do professionally.
