New Hope Thrift Store was on the to-do list today. We came in a little late as we only had an hour…read moreor so before closing (5pm on Saturdays). We were like 40 min out but I saw this place advertised on Social media - yes I try to confirm the hype. I am not sure if I would come back again. I don't like repeats if I don't feel welcomed. Maybe due to the fact we popped in an hour before closing-when we walked in, the person at the front counter, just glanced at us and quickly looked away. No smile at all, no "hello" or " welcome". When you drive 40 minutes out to check out a place, it would be nice to come into a welcoming environment at entry. I did like the selection of women's dresses and clothes. I did not have time to look at all the vinyls, but it seemed like they had a really good selection. A lot of DVDs, some cool VHS movies. They had this big closet of board games. It's a nice little spot. I wish they had more springtime goodies as that was my goal, to find Easter or springtime items. I guess for vintage, the prices can be on the fair side. My daughter wanted a couple stickers and I think that $1 dollar per sticker is a little bit high. I went to a place recently that gave you four stickers for $1, with a similar selection offered. They have a cute ring selection, $5.99 per ring. Actually, they have a really cute overall jewelry selection. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, a few watches and earrings. I really liked the jewelry section. I would probably take a trip to come out for more jewelry TBH. When it was time to purchase, the front counter person, seemed to spark up a personality, lol, so the ending wasn't too bad. After purchase, then I felt like a welcomed customer.

I loved that kind of checking in is skillful communication that's respectful too. I also try to do that, as it's a super way to interact with people. So he told me about the (good sounding) offers. I declined bc I was visiting and had just my suitcase. Still scored and got 2 cute tops for 13! And we just kept talking- Jared is a really nice person! The store is friendly and welcoming, and it is CHOCK-FULL of anything you may be looking for in a thrift shop. I really liked how organized everything was and how easy it was to find my size in whatever category I was looking for; the way they hang pants is unique, and I may try it myself in the closet. They also have a ton of jewelry and so many kids clothes!! the prices are very reasonable, too. Would go back if I lived closer. Magical new beginnings is a very special place

Please beware if you are a current or future tenant. I recently lived at this apartment complex for…read more9 years and was a model tenant. I was never late on rent, never caused issues, and always took care of my apartment. That's why I was shocked by how management treated me after my apartment flooded due to a faulty toilet part. I had written statements from TWO different plumbers confirming the flood was caused by a faulty toilet component and that I was not at fault. I sent those statements directly to property management, and they completely ignored them and refused to address the evidence. Their only argument was that I "failed to report the issue," but I had no knowledge there was an issue until the day of the flood. You can't report a problem you don't know exists. They even filed a claim with my renters insurance on my behalf, and my insurance denied the claim twice because there was no proof I caused the flood. Despite all of this, management continued trying to charge me thousands of dollars in damages. After the flood, they only partially replaced my carpet and told me I could pay for the rest myself if I wanted it to match. It was such an eye sore and I was completely embarrassed to have anyone over. They later tried charging me for that carpet too. The entire situation made the last year of my time there extremely stressful and miserable. I couldn't wait until my lease was up. They even sent me a notice stating they were applying my rent payment to the damages and I was now late on rent which is completely illegal. Yes, I have this in writing from them too. When I finally gave notice to move out, management suddenly apologized and offered to "drop everything," but by then it was too late. Even after I moved out, they are STILL trying to charge me for damages despite the plumber statements and insurance denial. They took my security deposit and are stating I owe the balance. Please document everything if you live here. I have proof of everything stated in this review.

I'm used to seeing people being burdened by us coming in to make donations but, not this place. They are so patient and kind here... We donated a lot of items that our family didn't need anymore and items my father in law left behind since his passing. We did not want to do an estate sale so we packed up a lot of kitchenware and linen for the donation center... There was an optional monetary donation to be made afterwards.
