Had check engine light on. They ran tests and cleared codes. They advised me to call if the light comes back on and it was no charge.

R&R automotive repair E. Hwy 82 Gainesville Tx told me I was buying new engine and never mentioned…read moreremanufactured engine. Kyle Rochell, owner, told me it would have a 3 year warranty and would transfer to anyone I sold car . Hunter from R&R told me after engine repaired that R&R mechanics would drive car 2 days to make sure no issues. When engine replaced 2 months later Owners tried to charge me $1000 more for vehicle than agreed until I showed receipt from paying half the bill initially.R&R mechanics did not test drive my car after repaired for 2 days as told. When car returned it was making clunking noise every time we drove over a hole. Kyle stated struts and shocks bad as they were leaking oil, and would be an additional $1400. But Kyle or others from shop did not tell me issue until care returned and I had paid for services and 3 year warranty. I drove off and went to get 2 nd opinion from Kwik Kar who pointed out that engine was not bolted down. Kwik kar mechanics were wonderful checking all & said struts and shocks good. Mechanic's had me video engine moving up and down and not bolted securely, they fixed. No clunky noise when I left Kwik Kar. After telling R&R owner of engine not secured by his shop i showed video of car not bolted down as shown by Kwik Kare California street. Kyle reimbursed for charge from Kwik Kar. Went to sell car and prospective buyer called R&R for warranty and engine was told by Kyle Rochelle engine was remanufactured not new and warranty not transferable to new owner. I asked Kyle for receipt on engine from his seller to verify not new but remanufactured . Kyle refused his purchase order and receipt from Auto zone but did give me a receipt and hand wrote bought engine from Auto zone. Kyle said he was an honest man and if he said he would honor warranty to another buyer he would stand behind only after he told man day before he would not honor warranty. I lost sale of car as buyer of car skeptical of Kyle's shop work .Kyle had also told me after I paid for engine and warranty that any ASE mechanic would honor warranty. Now Kyle said he would honor but other ASE not honor. Kyle half printed limited warranty statement by Auto zone but does not state 3 years warranty as Kyle showed on final receipt. Please avoid this shop. Heck he had tried to sell me a 4 year warranty for an extra $400 . Glad I didn't do that!!!!!! Michaele Ann

*Full Disclosure* I am friends with the owner, and I went to college with his wife *…read more I have had my drivers license since 1991, 17 years, and over the past 17 years I have had a horrible habit of trading in my cars on something new because I was scared of not having a warranty. One 1989 Cutlass Supreme and Four Saturns (1993 SC2, 1996 SL2, 2000 SL2 and 2003 VUE) later. I am for the first time in my life paying off a car (hurry up June 20th) with no plans for trading it in when the warranty runs out in 6500 miles. I have every other Friday off, and since this repair shop is an hour trek from my home, I waited until my first Friday off in May to drive my car over to Texas Auto Service. My goal was to find out everything that was wrong with my car and what needed to be done to keep it moving for a few more years. Clinton and his team gave my car the full body treatment. Unfortunately, they came back with about $2000 worth of work that needs to be done. But, what they did do was tell me the priority and my time frames for each repair. They also told me what I should be able to get done before my warranty runs out, and how to get them to do another repair "while they are doing the warranty work." I had taken my car to the Saturn dealership in Waco just 4 months ago and they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. Thanks to Texas Auto Service for giving me a heads up that I needed to replace the timing belt, water pump and tensioners before I hit 100,000 miles. They were honest with me, if the timing belt happens to break while I am driving... it will ruin the engine and I would end up having to buy a new car. Saturn would have just let me wait until I was stranded on the freeway one day and then say... well you can buy a new car... with a worthless vehicle with no trade-in value. I was told I needed to have my brakes fixed as soon as possible, that I was almost down to the squeelers. I returned 14 days later and they had my brakes fixed in under two hours. They were dead on about my time frame for my brakes as they just started squeeling two days before I had them fixed. Now I know that I have to start saving money to have the warranty work, leaky valve gasket covers (and the spark plugs while they are at it) done at Saturn by July and to have the timing belt, etc. done before the odometer does the big flip. I can't explain how having a mechanic that I can trust is helping me thru my first walk thru the trecherous terrain of having a car without a warranty.
