The food is freshly made to order from scratch, they accommodated me with a customized dish, and the portions were ample. The food was delicious! We have cheese curls with marinara dip, chicken bacon ranch wrap with seasoned home fries with dip, a BLT with seasoned home fries with dip, and a wonderful peach cobbler. We got full after half the meal and took the rest to enjoy at the hotel later. The waitress there was very attentive, polite, and is very good at service. She gave good recommendations and always had a smile. I recommend trying this gem off the highway because it is well worth it! If I travel back through this way again I will surely stop again. The cook immediately came from behind the counter to bring water for them. We were still sitting there with nothing. Our server came over - apologized and got our orders and brought out our drinks. Our salads came out and all was well. Then we waited and waited. We were informed that one of the potato pizzas we ordered couldn't be made because they were out of potatoes. No big deal. We changed the order. Then the group next us - who came in 20 minutes after us and ordered after us all got served their pizzas(including a few potato pizzas). While we waited and was not served. Finally realizing that our diverse group of 5 was being shafted for the very non-diverse group of 8 we asked for our pizzas to go and we left. So if the intention of Il Lazzarone was to make us feel sidelined and "othered" - congratulations. Job well done. Because we left there being reminded of just how how bigotry feels. The pizzas was still great in my hotel room. But you will never see a recommendation from me or dime of my money again.
