There are about 6 gas…read morepumps and if there is another set of extended vehicles/towing vehicles you end up having to drive on a gravel pit adjacent to this gas station near the hotel. It's kind of a mess. The convenience store is small and there is no hot or freshly prepared food even though there are refrigerated cases for this- the cases are completely empty. There are signs all over the fountain drink machine about charges for cups, ice, etc. When I say signs, I mean a bunch of signs repeated over and over about the cost of everything- it is a bit obnoxious. There is supposed to be a taco place adjacent/connected to this Travel Plaza and there is a window in the travel plaza convenience store where I guess you would be able to order tacos. This is all shut down/closed. The whole experience is weird. Hays KS is large and there are lots of gas stations and convenience stores- I would go somewhere else. In addition, this location is not an easy on and off I-70 Highway

To my disappointment, it's a little quick shop with a little (deli?) next door. Do for you who think like me, you might wanna pass. I think it's named wrong. Went to Golden Corral at the same exit, so it worked out.

Along the way we ran into trouble approx 30 minutes west of Hays, Kansas on a Saturday night about 8 pm. The car was stuck in 4th gear and would simply not shift into any other gear. It felt like the linkage crumbled away. Luckily we made it off an exit to a rather desolate gas station and started googling who to call. After an hour with no luck, the gas station attendant gave us the number to Drexler's. I don't know how to explain, with the proper amount of emphasis, how Drexler's went above and beyond the call of duty, for complete strangers. First, this is a normal 9-5 shop and he answered at 9pm Saturday night. He sent a tow truck friend of his, who was also amazing by the way, to collect us and take us to his shop. He sent one of his technicians to meet us at the shop (again on a Saturday night) who opened a bay and let us park our rare and expensive vintage car securely overnight. The tech took our information and told us they would start bright and early Monday morning. The tow driver then dropped us at a local Motel 6 and we dug in to begin our long wait. Fast forward to Monday 8am . . . I get a call from Drexler's telling me the car was ready. Apparently, Drexler sent a tech to the shop on Sunday to complete the repairs well into the night, so we could restart our journey home as soon as possible. How do you even thank somebody for service like that. Such an amazing group of people. I hope you never break down on a long journey. But if you do, I sincerely hope it's near Drexler's in Hays, Kansas.

Very straightforward, honest work. They were able to use the parts and supplies we had, so that saved us on the total bill. Very quick service. Call ahead and make an appointment, which may be a few weeks out because they are so good. Highly recommended!

It was right off the highway which made it convenient however it was difficult to get back out due to traffic, the flow, etc. The store is small, there's only a few pumps, and they sell live bait if you're into that kinda thing. I only ended up checking out the bathroom and was horrified enough that I didn't waste my time walking around the rest of the store. The bathroom was in absolute disrepair. It's two stalls, one very gross sink, and lots of broken down everything. The stall door would hardly shut, wouldn't obviously lock, and badly needs replaced. See the pic below. The sink was also barely functioning. No way to dry your hands. No soap. I will not be stopping at this establishment in the future.

I use one of 2 gas credit cards when we travel, and this being a Phillps 66 station just off the interstate, we usually pop in right when we exit. It's just your basic small convenience store/gas station. There are pumps on the east and north sides of the building, and the traffic flow isn't the best (more on that later), but it serves its purpose. Now, the best tip I can give you? When leaving, and trying to turn left back onto the main road...you might sit there a while. There's no light at that intersection, and the alternating north and south bound traffic can be a headache, depending on the time of day. I advise going further south along the frontage road to a different intersection - giving you more opportunity for a easy left.
