I would like to be as transparent as possible in this, as my case was rather abnormal…read more Steven and Rebecca handled my divorce several years ago, so when a new found custody battle came up, I found it fitting to go there, since they created the original agreement. I have to say, first and foremost, that Rebecca's communication is exemplary! She responded promptly at every whim I had, and normally in a very cordial manner. She was honest and forthcoming, and all though not the best at comforting, she made sure that I understood both sides of everything. I would not trade her for anyone to be my primary POC for my case. Secondly, when my first court date came, I found out that Steven himself wouldn't be present, even though he was the original attorney paid for (things happen, I get it). John stepped in for court and showed up 4 minutes late, thankfully the judge was running behind, but we had little time to go over last minute details. I felt that John's goal was to force me to settle the case in favor of the opposition. He often spoke with the opposing attorney in the presence of my ex but not me, so I was not privy to the attorney discussions but the other party was, and was able to give input. This was infuriating. From the most honest of my heart, he seemed to have been walked all over and bullied by the other, very intimidating I will admit, attorney. This caused me to be very unhappy with the outcome because what I had told him would happen if I agreed to something, indeed happened when he assured me it would not. After the first court appearance, when I let them know of my displeasure, my needs were much better met and I couldn't be more happy with the course of time and their efforts after that. If not for the day of court itself, I would absolutely rate them as 5 stars.

This was our first time working with a lawyer. We couldn't be happier to have found Steve Girsky!…read moreHe was with us every step of the way with our adoption. Our adoption was a little challenging and had a few bumps along the way. Steve reassured us and kept a positive outlook the whole time. His office staff is nothing but friendly. All forms of communications are responded to quickly. We are a family of 3 thanks to Steve and his team. I would highly recommend Steve Girsky and his staff to help you with your legal needs.

I hired the firm to do my very simple divorce. I'm talking about my ex and I agreed on everything…read moreand were ready to sign it all with no fight or anything. They met with us and we were set to get it all started. We paid the first part of what they asked for, when they asked for it. Once some time went by we tried to follow up to see what was going on and if anything was needed from us. They wouldn't not return emails or calls. This went on for weeks. The divorce attorney actually kept me married longer than need be. I ended up having to pull my divorce from them and gave it to another local attorney who got it done in 2 weeks (because the judge was set to be in court 2 weeks out). I was really disappointed in my experience here. I will never use them again.

Since her…read morebirth, my child's mother has made several attempts, using the juvenile court system, to keep my daughter from visiting me here in Michigan, effectively stifling any hope of a healthy relationship between us. The times my daughter has visited me have been nothing but positive. At the end of 2017, Brittani Dial was assigned as the Guardian ad Litem in my case. Her role as I understand it is to represent the interest, and best interest, of my daughter. Instead of doing this, Ms. Dial has spent the entirety of 2018 making it as hard as possible for me to see my child. I do not believe scrutinizing and ultimately removing a child's loving father from their life is ever in a child's best interest. She recommended my daughter and I see a psychologist all year, who has confirmed the loving bond between my daughter and I, but did not bother to familiarize herself with these reports before making recommendations to the judge, in my opinion showing a clear bias. She recommended I make the 600 mile trip to Clarksville once a month, all year, my visitation being limited to Montgomery County as if I am a danger to my own child. When I expressed the financial, and psychological toll this was taking, along with my fears of discrimination being a factor in my mistreatment, Ms. Dial responded with a callous, "I don't care how any of this makes you feel". I have never experienced this level of coldness and dismissiveness from my daughter. Ms. Dial continues to stray further from the interest, and best interest, of my child and I do not recommend her or her firm.
