We operate an animal rescue and get many bags of cans and bottles donated to us. At first, we took a large load to Beartown to cash in for funds for the rescue. One employee that is currently working there, (middle aged, dark hair, medium height, usually has chew in his lip), came out and informed us that there were some non-returnable bottles, specifically Gatorade. Fair enough. We apologized and offered to take the bottles that were not returnable and he declined and continued counting. The following load, we sorted them all before bringing them in, which was a very dirty and gross job but we know it is worth it for the animals and certainly were not trying to cause a problem for the redemption center either! The second time, he came out and said the same thing... that there were "A LOT of PA cans" to which we again apologized and let him know that we did make a significant attempt to sort them beforehand. He stated that he had found 10. (This was a load of probably 1,000.) He also stated something about having been in the military for 15 years to which we are not sure why this information was given. We again stated that we could take the non-returnables and dispose of them and he again declined and continued counting. SO MY QUESTION IS THIS: WHY SAY ANYTHING THEN???? I then walked into the building to watch as I really didn't believe that there were that many non-returnables as I had looked through them myself. He was still grumbling to another employee, who was polite and didn't seem to mind, about "they must have not gone through them very good!" Then he saw me sitting there and acted like he knew me... which I don't know him. He then stated he didn't have his glasses on. (????) It is really a shame because all the other employees are really nice and aren't odd or rude but because of this one guy, we will not be coming back to Beartown Redemption. My guess is that they will probably lose a lot of business due to this guy, which is a shame. He isn't someone that has worked there a long time because we only recently started seeing him within the past year or less. On a positive note, we went to Rey's Redemption Center today and got more for our cans and the employees were all very sweet and welcoming. We were even entered in a drawing to win a prize because we had more than 400 cans! We experienced the best customer service at Rey's of any redemption center that we have ever been to so far! The employees all have excellent attitudes and have the can and bottle redemption down to a science. Even though they count them all by hand, they don't seem to be any slower and they know how to treat their customers! We will be going to Rey's from now on!!!!

Lost about $ 5 in rejections of all the same brand of drink (Venom Energy), which all had a deposit on them. The center makes its money off setting machines to reject certain brands, knowing people will just leave the rejections in the bin.

No reason your customers should have to drive through that. I would describe trash drop off at this place as inconvenient, and unorganized. For things that are recyclable but aren't accepted in curbside recycling bins, you can take your items to Ecopark off of Paul Road in Chili. Today I brough scrap metal, empty prescriptions bottles, and the "bag of plastic bags" I know we all have. No appointments necessary for that stuff, though if you are bringing things like paint or hazardous waste, you will need to make an appointment online. Many things are free to recycle, some have a fee. I paid $5 to recycle a tire on a previous trip. The line of cars is usually pretty long but moves more quickly than you'd expect. Once you're in the building, attendants let you know where you can put your items. Drive out the other side of the building and exit the way you came in. Easy process, and there are a few less items in the landfill!
