If you need a nicer store for browsing, this is about it for Western PA. Since PA is liquor controlled, the prices are the same even with the nicer environment. This store is as premium as premium can be, at least in the Pittsburgh area. Not sure what Philly has. Parking is kinda weird as the area has grown. It's on an upper floor of the building, so if you don't want to take the stairs, try and find the upper floor of the parking deck. I didn't know where it was so I parked at the ground level then hoofed it up the stairs. I felt like a dumb jagoff, knowhatimean? Getting the really good stuff is still a challenge as the people in the know line up on delivery days. But a store like this is more likely to have something a little more rare than another neighborhood store. I visited 3 stores when I was in town, and didn't find anything special. It's the luck of the draw these days.

He even let someone go before me and didn't even ask them for their identification at all.Only when I suggested he call the authorities so they can scan my identification card I gave him he continued with my transaction. And in the end he never scanned my id or even looked at it for more than 3 seconds. I even took my card around to the people in the store and asked if it looked like me( because I do change my hair and wear eyelashes) however each person even the man that went before me said it was me. I have no clue why he didn't want to service me however he ended up serving me anyways.

I was greeted right away when I walked in. On one side of the space they have seating and a bar where you can hang out and enjoy some drinks. On the other side is the "shop" where you can purchase the beverages of your choice. I think it's really neat that they only sale wines made in PA. The Open Road is here in the up-and-coming Garfield neighborhood to help supply sober and sober curious people, and really anyone interested in cutting back on alcohol or supporting someone who is, with delicious beverages that help you feel like you're not missing out on a thing. There are nonalcoholic beers, spirit-free versions of things like gin, bourbon, bitters and truly anything else you might need to make yourself alcohol free drinks at home. There are also pre-canned and bottled options where you don't have to do any of the work, nonalcoholic wine and bubbly, functional beverages with added benefits, the amount of choice is nearly overwhelming in the best possible way. It's a clean, open vibe in the shop and the staff is kind and helpful. I have bought from them a number of times throughout the year at various pop-ups but this was my first visit to the shop and of course won't be my last. They are regulars at Pittsburgh festivals and other events and I'm deeply appreciative for their presence in the community!

I guess I haven't been there for a while, because there were a lot of changes! The macaron stand isn't there any more, and they have seats instead. I was so glad that I took my laptop with me, because once I saw the seats I decided to stay and work. While sipping on my oat milk latte, I watched all the Downtown work people come and go ordering custom sandwiches and hot foods for lunch. They have a good selection of food and the prices are reasonable. I remember one time ordering salmon, veggies, and something else and it was only about $10-$12. They served it to you on a plate, and I ate it in the wine bar. I didn't eat anything on this most recent trip, but I enjoyed my latte from De Fer.
