The Thermal cascades of Saturnia, also called Cascate del Mulino, are a day trip, a 2 hour drive north of Rome in Tuscany. On maps you'll have to search for Cascate ok Mulino while on the street signs they go by Saturnia Terme. Well worth the drive! We spent a good 3 hours enjoying the warm waters! The drive in to deep Tuscan country was beautiful! We took pics of Tuscan homes, vineyards, a flock of sheep crossing the road, and stopped at local vineyards for wine tastings. The cascades are free as it is a natural park, not to be confused with the private park which runs about $45 a person but not connected to these thermal springs. There is a huge parking lot that accommodates about 100 or so vehicles and is free, there are showers which you pay a euro for, and a nice sheltered snack bar with sandwiches, pastas, ice cream, fruit, and drinks. What an amazing experience, even though it was a hot summer day around 88 degrees the waters weren't scorching but comfortable. I do suggest you bring good water shoes and towels! Many visitors had beach umbrellas and coolers, those were the pros! read more
