My wife are long-time WorldMark owners. We stayed here for a week at the beginning of September,…read moreand the place was fairly dead, which was fine with us. There were never more than two other couples in the pool, which made for a nice, quiet vacation. Our unit was just off the pool, which was a good location. Our unit had a small pool on the second-floor patio, but it was fairly useless, as it filled at a pace that made me think that the water was being added with an eye dropper. We had a bit of an ant infestation in the second-floor bathroom, but the staff was quick to bring some bug spray. The guy who runs the swim-up bar was friendly, and had reasonable prices on beers and cocktails. While there are a few restaurants within easy walking distance, it would be nice if they had a burger bar or taco shop onsite. We rented a golf cart through WorldMark, and while it is a little expensive, I would still recommend it, as it is a great way to get around and explore the island.

Staff was VERY friendly, always had nice cool drinks in the office, free use if a laptop and printer, very quiet location. We rented a golf cart at the front desk. We will definitely come back. Note: restaurants within less than a 10 minute walk: GreenVerde (3 stars) , Mangos (5+ stars), Kash Keken Chuc (4 stars) and a big grocery store - Chedraui

Not a bad place to stay if you're looking for a family friendly, laid back place this is it. The…read morebeach is nice, decent pool, plus 2 hot tubs (however the hot tub water looked like rather suspect so we stayed out) We stayed in an ocean view room with balcony and while the room itself could use some touching up (especially the paint) for the price you couldnt beat it. We booked this room because we didn't want to have to go to a restaurant for every meal. Having a full kitchen was important to us. This room had a Living room with T.V, dining room/ kitchen, bedroom with T.V. & bathroom. The unit was very spacious. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils needed and plenty of dishware which was excellent. Pots, pans, even storage containers. Housekeeping staff were great, if we left a note asking for something in the room or even for recommendations they always responded. (I made sure to leave a nice tip on the table for them when we left) speaking of staff, the housekeepers were the most friendly, I got the feeling that everyone else really didnt want to be there. I felt like I was bothering them, even when I was checking in. That is one of the reasons for my 3 stars instead of 4. The downside of Casa Maya is the location for walking to "town" it's very safe but it is a distance. You could take a bus but they were all very crowded and with Covid we were uncomfortable doing that. You could use and uber or taxi and on the days that the long walk was just to much that's what we did. The bus was the only thing that we were uncomfortable with regarding Covid. Everywhere else you go you have to sanitize and have your temp taken. In stores you have to wear a mask. Even the grocery store, sanitize & temp at the door. I know some people have freaked out about "their rights" but I am all for it and I appreciated the feeling that covid was being taken seriously. I can honestly say that I felt safer health wise with regard to Covid in Mexico than I have in the U.S. The other drawback (for me) was how incredibly mello the hotel was. There is 1 bar and seperate restaurant inside and the same outside. They didnt keep the bar staffed and when it was the person seemed like he would have rather been anywhere else. The drinks weren't really worth it. You're better off going to the store to make your drinks yourself. I'm by no means and alcoholic but I like the atmosphere of a bar with music. Casa Maya doesn't have that. The food in the restaurant was mediocre but that was okay because we had a full kitchen in our room! The games by the pool daily were geared towards the kids which was nice for them. This is really good hotel for families with kids. If you're looking for the fun all inclusive feel for adults this isn't it (the hotel does have an all inclusive option, I am SO glad we didnt pay for it, I would have been very upset) We stayed at Riu Las Americas last time and while the food wasnt very tasty there was a huge selection & the entertainment at the pool was on point. (Both trips were during covid so equal comparison) Overall I was satisfied and for the price I really shouldnt complain all. If I was looking for that homelike set-up I would definitely stay again.

Although the hotel is little old and not as much activities like the other hotel offers we definitely have a wonderful experience and we love that our room is located just outside of the pool and beach area . They also have a convenience store which was nice and we can buy eggs, bacon, bread etc for our breakfast. The room has a good size kitchen, stove top, microwave , toaster and kitchen utensil which was very good for us since my son likes simple things and we can easily make it and less expensive ad well:) One thing I like most also is because of our room location we can just have breakfast in our balcony and see the pool and the ocean and walk while see my son in the balcony which is amazing! Today is our last day but we are definitely coming back to Cancun. The one thing we don't like so much is the pillows and the bed little hard it hurts our neck. Other than that we had a great vacation :)

For years, we stayed at all-inclusive resorts, but recently turned in favor of more off-the-beaten path properties that afford you the chance to explore the city a little bit more, since meals aren't available 24/7. We found a nice house on VRBO that ended up being managed by Playacar Vacation Rentals. You'll find it on their website as Casa Stavola / F8. It was a perfect beachfront property located in Playcar Phase I that housed six of us! With a pool, full kitchen, large living room and lots of amenities, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Our place was well situated to the rest of town but felt very quiet the second you entered the Phase I complex. We arranged our own transportation from the airport but upon arriving to the house, I had to make my way to the vacation rental office to pick up the key. Citlaly was so welcoming and willing to help with whatever we needed. From excursions to taxi pickups, they can do it all. We used them to rent a boat one afternoon and everything went flawlessly. The properties themselves are very well managed. There is cleaning service every other day, they provide big jugs of drinking water regularly, staff is around to take care of anything that may break and, all in all, it feels very safe. We are hoping to make this a yearly trip and I imagine us returning to the same exact spot! Really wouldn't change a thing.

Some owners handle rentals themselves, in which case, you typically have to search on VRBO or ABNB by # bedrooms, location, price etc. Several of the units are now managed/rented via Your Property Solutions Puerto Morelos, Sharon Webb. The building is BEAUTIFUL, best location on the beach in our opinion. 10 min beach walk to the town square, grocery store, restaurants etc. There are beach clubs nearly next door if you want a bit more action/energy. Units have fully equipped kitchens. We usually have breakfast "at home", lunch on the beach (beach bar or beach food vendors) & dinner out, so many great restaurants in walking distance. Not a party place, but wonderful base for couples/friends to relax, enjoy the beach, pool & lovely town.

From the minute we got there, we were mesmerized by the beauty of the ocean, the gorgeous house and the enchanting feeling we got walking in the door. We stayed in the Penthouse and had full access to the entire property; the beach, the pool, the lounge area, the water toys and the hammock (my favorite!). There is someone onsite the entire time for anything you need, they offer cleaning and cooking services but all we really needed were clean towels and they were provided in a timely manner. We did very little touristy stuff because none of us wanted to leave this slice of heaven, aside from food, and obviously, beer runs, we hardly left the property; and I'm sure speak for everyone that was there, we have no regrets about that! Our vacation was right after the untimely death of our beloved bulldog and to our surprise, there were two dogs onsite that brought much needed comfort to us, thank you Wolly and Negrita for that, you're both now forever in my heart. For anyone looking for the best, most relaxing vacation, I highly recommend Casa Chanty! I promise, you will not regret it.
