Light/medium brown with copper glints came out as solid chocolate brown that didn't lighten up for weeks (which might've been good if that color was the goal). I am so incredibly thankful to have stumbled upon this salon thanks to Yelp reviews. I had had an utterly traumatizing experience at a salon on Las Olas and searched for "balayage color correction." Luckily, my search engine pulled up a review of Casa Mara. Just minutes after walking out of the salon on Las Olas, I called Casa Mara in tears of anger. I was greeted by Mara who promptly requested I send her pictures of the botch job. She even offered to stay late at her salon that day to help begin the color correction process of my hair. I was then scheduled with Ramune for my first color correction appointment. Upon my arrival, I was frankly embarrassed to be seen in public. I wore my hair in a top knot at work all day long and attempted disguising the orange color of my hair with dry shampoo throughout the day. Ramune asked if it was okay if we started a little later than scheduled with which I had no problem since I was the one in need of her help. Later, I learned that the reason she asked if this was okay was due to her seeing a few minor flaws in a lady's color before me and didn't want her to leave the salon until her hair was perfect and up to Ramune's very high standards. Ramune was an utmost professional and absolutely lovely. She listened to my horrifying experience with empathy and gave me advice on how to proceed. She was even kind enough to stay late on a Monday to finish this first step. Along with beginning the color correction process, she also fixed the uneven hair cut I had received. Ramune then scheduled my second color correction appointment for the end of the week. At this appointment, I met Mara and was blown away by her kindness and compassion. She was just as angry and upset with what had happened to me as I was. Thankfully I left Casa Mara with a smile on my face. Ramune worked some incredible magic to rectify what had been done to my hair. Before my "Las Olas Nightmare," I had gone to the same colorist for 12 years in my home state of Illinois. First time at the salon today & it was great! I went in originally wanting an ombré and Ramune quickly understood what I wanted after seeing a few pictures, a balayage. I was there from 12-2 for the color (like a painting technique), cut and blow-dry. It was very pleasant, sipped on some white wine and chatted about old pompano. Ramune did a fabulous job with everything! I love the sun kissed color and the fact that it looks natural. And I was able to use a $20 discount from yelp for the color. I had dyed my hair a permanent pink 3 months ago and I wanted it gone. I'm a college student visiting family in Pompano Beach for spring break. Ramune and Luz tried color erasers and toning it out, but in the end only had success with a hair color extractor. The redness is still a bit visible, but they did the best they could do when I refused to bleach my natural curls. The chemicals did damage my curls a bit, but nothing dramatic. I spent 8 hours in the salon over 2 days (a lot of the time was spent doing strand tests) and I ended up paying $460 before tips, because they charge by the hour. They did give me a small discount but it's still a lot for a college student. read more
