When we arrived, we were told they could "squeeze us" into a four-person booth and place a chair at the end. It immediately brought to mind the famous Seinfeld joke about knowing how to take a reservation, but not how to actually hold one. Mother's Day was the entire reason we chose to dine out, making it a special occasion for our family. Once we received the menus, we realized the restaurant had significantly limited the offerings, and our mother's favorite dish had been removed. When we asked if it was still available, the server responded, "We didn't want to burden the kitchen tonight." That answer was especially disappointing given the occasion and the expectations we've come to have for this restaurant. To make matters worse, the service -- which is usually one of the highlights of dining here -- felt awkward, inattentive, and well below the standard we've experienced in the past. As we were leaving, our mother quietly commented that it might be time for our family to find a new regular dinner spot. That was honestly the most disappointing part of the evening.
