Nothing against German food, but I didn't want anything too heavy so I figured Italian would be great. Checking on Yelp, I found I was close to a couple of pizza places but this one looked best so I stopped in. It was 8 pm on a Friday night and there were only three tables occupied and I thought "Uh oh, this place should be packed" but since I was hungry AND too lazy to go someplace else, I sat down. The professional gentleman who was waiting on the tables was efficient and friendly (more friendly that most of the German waiters I had during my time there, which isn't meant to bash anyone, it's just that most service was more business like). I ordered a beer and a pizza and was surprised at the generous portion that came out! I think my bill was about €15 and change and it was so much food I couldn't eat it! The pizza was good (could have been baked in the oven a bit more but that's just my preference) and my beer was delicious. Definitely a great spot for a nice meal that won't break the bank.

Quite a positive difference to many other pizza places where the pizza's central area quickly turns into an unidentifiable mush. Bartek, our waiter, was very attentive but not pushy. Sure, some foodies may expect a different thing. But it certainly fits the bill if you're looking for an Italian meal in the city centre at an affordable price in a shabby-chic ambiance. I've had dosas from many restaurants serving large Indian American communities and I don't think I'll find another place like this. Perhaps I should visit more Sri Lankan places. My dining partner, a Berlin native, never had dosas before and didn't know what to take of it but did remark I was trying to burn his mouth off with the papadum that was coated in chili powder and corresponding chutneys. Heh. That scared him. The restaurant even gave us shots of Patron tequila on the house as an appertif after finding out I was visiting from Texas. Gracias, Senor. Gracias.
