I was a bit scared going in here, but the officers really do their job well. They understand people…read moregoing here may have just made a mistake and they seem to care. They treat them like normal people. The place was clean enough, with cement and stainless steel all around. They have inmate workers roaming around cleaning any messes as they appear, especially after meals. Speaking of which, in the holding area, there's only sack lunches: bologna and cheese sandwiches with mustard packets, apple, plus cookies and milk. How cool is that?! A jail which gives you cookies and milk! If you get to the housing unit (most don't, getting released on their Own Recognizance (OR)), you'll get a hot meal served to you in your cell. Your cell can have up to four people in it. Most units come out of their cell one hour in the morning, afternoon, and at night. There's a big TV in the middle of the room which you can see from most of the cells, even though you might not hear it. The library books are replenished weekly, so that keeps you busy, too. The Commissary selection is wide and varied, but comes just once a week (on Sundays). Your family and friends can order "care packages" from the commissary website. If you're there for more than a couple weeks, there are jobs to be had, cleaning, cooking, and serving meals. This, too, helps pass the time. I'm sure there are much worse places to stay, but the professional officers help elevate the mood and spirits of everyone here.

All of these 5 star reviews are either current or former employees. There is no way anyone coming…read morein or out of here would give this place a five star review . All the COs I have dealt with here have lost their Humanity . They do not treat people with dignity here . They play mind games with people because they think it's funny when someone is told that they will be released and put in a Cell by themselves for 3 hours in the hopes that they would be released . Only for them to wait on paperwork or for that individual to break , because their family had asked that they were administered their medication correctly, per a judge's order. My suggestion is if you, or a loved one find yourself here , remember everyone's name that you encounter . And be ready to file a complaint against them . Roaches hate the light .

They treat the family of the inmates like crap, you can't even call here and get info on an inmate…read morewithout them being smug or fast talking you. I get it it's prison not supposed to be fun, but dam the families didn't do the crime. You don't have to treat us like trash because you hate your job. There website also sucks it stays broken, they will direct you to go online. Then when you tell them it's broke they want to say that's not true. This place is a joke.

This is an update to my original 2 star review because visiting has gone down hill, straight into…read morethe toilet. It's bad enough to visit at a prison where you have to follow a very particular set of rules, but to have staff that is downright disrespectful and takes pleasure in harassing visitors, takes things to a whole new level of shitty. Be forewarned that the visiting officers that are currently working check-in can be aggressive and downright rude. The clothing rules seem to have changed all of a sudden and they are really cracking down on any little clothing issue that they deem unacceptable. I've been humiliated, as have others, by the gatehouse guards over what I have been wearing(which is ridiculous because I dress very conservatively). In my 16 years years of visiting at other facilities around the state, I have never had any issues. Furthermore, there is one guard in particular who has zero public relations skills and literally screams at people when she gets flustered. "Higher management" doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about the abhorrent behavior and behaves in a similar, disrespectful fashion. When you're a public servant, you should not be treating free citizens like dirt. On top of all that, they still cannot seem to figure out an acceptable check-in routine as now they are allowing people who have visited the week before to sign up for the following week in advance, which means that if you don`t make prison visiting your life and do not go every week, more than likely you will be far down on the list come your visiting day. Ridiculous.
