Located in a residential neighborhood on a Neu Isenburg street the Naturfreundehaus host was as welcoming to my son and I as could be! Even though we provided a German greeting, it was obvious that we were out of town non- Deutschlanders! They provided English menus and a recommendation of a local pilsners which was quite tasty. Brody escalope pork with potatoes and I ordered the pork lion with onions and herb butter and added fried potatoes. Waiting patiently while I guzzle the tasty Pilsner..... While I was waiting, our host had an issue carrying someone else's food discretely stepped aside to prevent making a scene. I noticed this and jumped up to help and she provided me a se That meal was one of the most satisfying I have ever had! I can't say enough about the care and pride that produced that outstanding meal! The onions were caramelized and with the melted herb butter made for a tasty meal. The fried potatoes paired perfectly with the pork, onions, herb butter and green sauce from Brody's meal. Brody enjoyed his pork and potatoes also. He preferred the lemon better than the green sauce which left plenty for me! We both joined the clean plate club without a drop of tasty food remaining. I highly recommend Naturfreundehaus for anyone near Neu Isenburg around dinner time! ... I enjoyed my meal so much the night before I decided to come back a second night in a row. This round I decided to try the grilled chicken breast with garlic cream sauce and roasted potatoes. I added a small container of the green sauce that came with Brody's meal last night. Sipping on a Binding waiting for my meal....... The chicken was as good as the pork from my previous meal. The garlic cream and green sauce paired well together with the chicken and crispy fries. My son will be staying in the area and he will definitely be in to enjoy a meal with his teammates. Cheers!

Their food menu is quite extensive and you have a choice of different meat dishes, salads, vegetarian and local dishes. They have a fair bit of outdoor seating and the place was full when we arrived for lunch. They have a daily special and today was Schnitzeltag (Mondays). I had the Grune Sauße which is a local specialty in the Frankfurt area and mine came with boiled potatoes and pork shoulder that has been boiled and baked (at least I think it is). The whole dish was flavourful, herby and fragrant. It tasted divine and I finished every morsel on the plate :-)) Service here is friendly and helpful and they accommodated us even though they were busy and got us on our way quick. I would happily come here anyday for a meal and try most things on the menu :-) my colleagues loved their meals and come here often. Prices are very reasonable as well.

If you go by car, there is plenty of parking. Getting back to walking, there are lots of trails all around the restaurant, including a trail around the little lake. This is fabulous if you have a dog, because the dog is allowed in the restaurant. The menu here is very mixed, and I love that they have many traditional foods mixed with innovative, modern twists. Since this is a. " hunting lodge.", I chose to go with a venison stew this time. An excellent choice with a traditional side of pasta and salad. My mother had a Flammkuchen with Grünkohl and sausage, also a twist on the traditional. The dough was thin and crunchy, perfect. I remember this restaurant from many years ago and it was more rustic. My mother mentioned that they recently renovated and it's gorgeous. It still has a rustic touch, but it is light and airy, and there are lots of tables. They have several outside sitting areas that are covered so that you can see the forest and the lake, but you're still protected from the weather. This is the middle of winter, but I assume in the summer you can sit outside on the vast patio area. We were lucky enough to get a table close to their beautiful big fire ovens. I mentioned this before, but it is important to me as a dog owner: there were lots of well-behaved dogs in the restaurant. The staff was very nice. They were attentive, but did not constantly bother us while we were eating. They also have a very nice dessert menu, but unfortunately, we were too full to try any of it. For all the Americans that are enticed by the yummy appetizers and then can not finish their entrée, I did see several people take doggy bags, which is not as common in Germany Enjoy.

Just finished visiting Germany for a Christmas Marketplace tour - starting in Frankfurt. One of the…read morenights, we searched for a restaurant near the hotel and found this one with great reviews. We hired a couple of taxis to take all of us to the restaurant. It's at a great location in the middle of a park/forest area. Nice, cozy restaurant/beer garden - they had a blazing fire going in the room where we had dinner. Good selection of German food and desserts! We ordered a tall beer and the weinersnitzel meal - fantastic! A big highlight of the meal was the homemade apple streudel - yummy (picture included!). The restaurant had to call for taxis for us - no taxis anywhere around here in the forest! Highly recommend this restaurant in Frankfurt!
