I'm writing this review solely based on the amazing customer service I experienced. When I called to cancel my stay the person who answered was extremely helpful and did the best she could to help me catch a different train and sort through the transportation issues I was having. Unfortunately I was still unable to make it to Lagos with the ability to make the most out of my short stay and ended up canceling. They were kind enough to waive any charges, despite me canceling very last minute. I truly hope I am able to travel to Lagos one day so I can fully experience this hotel.

Kind of mixed on this hotel. Convenient location, clean and modern but awkwardly designed rooms…read more The shower/toilet area is on the other side of the bed from the sink. It's a novelty that soon became a minor annoyance for my wife and I, especially at night, when we were trying to minimize movement and noise. And with little room for luggage, they've managed to design bonus tripping hazards into the layout. The staff was polite but stiff, usually speaking in a corporate hush, although the young woman who checked us in projected normally in exquisite English. There was some nickel and diming and enforcement of petty rules. Drinks and snacks provided in the room turned out not to be complimentary as they were at other nice hotels in Portugal. Yet no price list was posted in the room, causing an unwelcome surprise at checkout. Another surprise: Our take-out meal in the lobby on a quiet holiday evening was interrupted by a request to eat in our rooms. There was no "for future reference" warning. We packed up our half-eaten dinner and took to our rooms, feeling like naughty children being disciplined. Later in our stay I asked if I could grab a quick glass of already opened champagne still on ice in the breakfast dining area and surely destined to be poured down the sink. But breakfast had ended so the answer was, well, you know.

NICE HOTEL ACROSS FROM THE MARINA IN LAGOS, PORTUGAL…read more========================================== I found this hotel on my own after doing some research because my son and his wife wanted to go to the Algarve for a few days. My husband's cousin who lives in Cascais and speaks Portuguese booked it for us. The price was very good. I think we paid about 650 euros for two rooms for two nights for my son, daughter-in-law and then my husband and I. I liked everything about this hotel except our view in the rear of the property from Room #207. Our balcony basically faced the bus station, but we were also on the end of the building so we had a peekaboo side view of the marina. It was a comfortable and quiet room at night, so that was good. I would highly recommend booking a room on the side that faces the marina in one of the upper floors. They have a great balcony spanning half of the hotel on the fourth floor. It's a great place to relax at the end of the day. Bring your own beverages and snacks. They also have a small pool area up some stairs overlooking the bus station. They have a small bar by reception and the prices are good. You can get towels for the pool or beach, but you need to leave them a 10 euro deposit per towel. That makes sense or people will forget to bring them back. Easy access to activities at the marina. We booked a boat/kayak tour Ponta da Piedade Caves which was a lot of fun through Days of Adventure. It was a short trip on the water which is nice because I get seasick. I did take some Dramamine which helped too.

Spotlessly clean, updated, and quiet!…read more The room is a ten minute walk from the railroad station, which is how we arrived and departed. Each room has a balcony with two chairs and a table. We chose a room on the west side to avoid the sun while enjoying a morning cup of coffee. It was fun to watch the beehive activity of the live market on Saturday morning. Although the bus terminal is behind the hotel, we couldn't hear anything from there with the door closed. In the evenings, we enjoyed the shade on the roof top patio. They had multiple seating areas, loungers, and a pool. The views were remarkable. Staff members were all respectful, kind, and friendly. The breakfast was complete, including pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, beans, cheeses, cold cuts, juices, and coffee. We chose this hotel primarily because we took the train to Lagos, and didn't want to walk far. But it was also an easy walk to the old town and to the beach.

It was our first eating experience in Lagos, and the atmosphere of Bahia Beach Bar set the tone for our Lagos vacation! We just had a couple appetizers and sangria before a walk on the beach. The service was impeccable, special thanks for such good service to Rafaela, Vester, and David; a good meal is not just good food, it's also a great experience :) we also can't forget Bruno the bartender, who makes a great Aperol Spritz (his other mixed drinks are just as good). The bar is on a beautiful part of Praia Maia and a great place to enjoy small bites, lunch, or dinner with drinks or wine. I had fish there everyday, always check on what the catch of the day is, but the seared Ahi dish is one of the best fish dishes I have ever had, hat's off to the chef. Make sure you get the gaspacho. Do not miss out on this fabulous beach bar in beautiful Lagos Portugal! I found the prices to be affordable, but I am American and found all of the food in Lagos to be very reasonably priced, I believe the Ahi I mentioned above was 18 Euro. there is a ramp to the restaurant, but it does start in the sand and may not be easily accessible by a wheelchair. I don't recall seeing a TV but can't promise that there isn't one. I wasn't there on a Sunday night, but if I had been, I would have made a reservation weeks in advance for a table; it's very popular on Sunday nights and there is live music. No photos, sorry, I was too busy devouring the amazing food to take a picture of it!
