Our balcony in our room looked out over the Mediterranean, which was lovely. They also have a nice sided swimming pool, but we opted to just swim in the sea. They have a buffet in site that was included with our stay (all meals). The food was good and there was a decent variety. A little repetitive each day, but there was always something for everyone. Our room was clean and comfortable (although beds a little firm for my taste). Room includes a (very small) tv, king bed, additional twin bed, vanity, bathroom with bidet, hair dryer, decent shower, but no tub. All in all, we were very happy with our stay and I would recommend this resort.

We arrived very late and long after the check in was closed. However instantly the extremely kind and helpful personnel showed up to welcome us kindly and to show us everything. Nothing was any problem for them at all. The stay was in reconstructed old building called Il Pozzino that offered all the comfort, luxury and style. It was a great combination of old with new, large bed, perfectly equipped kitchen, large bathroom with shower and perfectly working AC. The premises were absolutely clean and neat and were together with the large pool cleaned and prepared every morning. We loved this beautiful place that much that we didn´t drive any further as planned originally a prolonged our stay to a second night which was the maximum that we could dedicate to Maremma before returning back to Florence. However I would love to stay longer if possible.

We were part of a large group stay at the Granduca. We received a bill, at the end of our stay,…read morewhich was shocking. We were charged for an "extra person in the room" although the room is listed as accommodation for 2 persons. The organizer of our stay stated that my partner could bring me along - they never mentioned an extra charge. We were also charged for each time I went to the pool although there are no indications that using the pool is extra. When I complained, I was told that the pool "charges" would be complimentary. However, we got to our room to pack and the front desk called, again, to say that they had to charge me something for using the facility. (20 Euro per entrance) They asked how many times I used the facility. So, although they have no record of my usage, they're charging me. I could easily lie and say I used the pool once. What do they know or care? This is not 4-star behavior and Graduca is listed as a 4-star property. I have stayed at 5 to 7 star hotels with Michelin restaurants. I know quality. This is not it. High star ratings do not nickel, dime and trick the clientele with weak apology and protocol. The rooms are antiquated. Shampoo, body wash and conditioner are NOT INCLUDED. The towels are ragged gym quality. The bed had bugs. We are bitten all over our bodies. Breakfast and all meals in the restaurant are passable at best, unfresh and remind me of summer camp. Ingredient quality and attitude here are both tired. All in all, I would never return.
