We chose their tortelli zucca burro, a locally famous dish, which was excellent. Restaurants in this area prepares this regional dish a bit differently, so it's impossible to say which is best - they're all excellent. The local salami was also recommended so we ordered a panini with their sauteed (aka cooked) salami. This was superb, and totally unlike eastern or central European salami or other Italian salamis. I saw that someone oddly criticized what he thought was Forneria delle Erbe - but was apparently confused. Forneria delle Erbe is a takeout restaurant. There are no waiters or barkers trying to get customers. The ingredients are clearly A+ quality!!

We both have spent many years traveling throughout the EU, Eastern Europe, and the Americas. NOW, about this "Osteria" ... In my opinion: it is a travesty, for all of the following reasons: the food is extremely poor quality, with some of the poorest quality ingredients we have ever experienced anywhere; the "service" is a joke, bordering on rudeness, with plates being thrown onto the table, missing orders, in short it at the level of a rural-carnival. The food "preparation" borders on pathetic ... McDonalds pays greater attention to the preparation of their dishes than these jokers do. I think by now you get the point ... go ANYWHERE ELSE, even to go without would be an improvement. It seems that the only way this establishment can fill their tables is to have a man in the plaza acting like a "barker" to bring in tourist passers-by. It is extremely mediocre food -- the antithesis of real "Italian" cuisine, not even rising to the level of a 'paradoy'. Over all, the most offensive aspect of 'delle Erbe' is the universal lack of cordial manners among the servers and staff. UGH, what a disaster of a place ... the Italian 'Faulty Towers' !!
