When we are in the area visiting family, which is about 3-4 times a year, our Best Western of…read morechoice is the Marina Gateway in National City, but for only one night, the price at this BW was right for the pocketbook.
Let me start by saying that the gentleman who helped check me in was very friendly, and went over the amenities, breakfast and such.
I reserved 2 rooms for 1 night, one room for me and another for two family members who were traveling with me. My king bed room was clean, some dust here and there, especially in the closet and on the iron stand that was in the closet but had no iron. The bed was clean, as was the furniture, and the window/wall AC unit worked great, as it was a warmer day in Chula Vista. There was a dropdown blackout panel that was a little worn out, as well as a dropdown curtain sort of thing that you could also bring down, and this probably needs to be replaced as it was quite dirty and had a pretty big stain on it. The king bed and pillows were comfy, and again, for one night, they did the job. The one complaint I personally have, as my relatives two doors down didn't have this issue, was the plumbing in my room. My toilet took forever to flush! At first I thought it was clogged. I mean, I'd flush it and the water just went around and around and... almost to the top, until it finally slowly flushed. And the shower/tub was similar as the two times I showered I'd end up standing in about an inch or so of water as it was not draining properly. I literally had to step out of the tub, and rinse my feet one more time since I had been standing in the water I had just used to bathe in. Also, our rooms were on the side of the hotel that faces the freeway, and I'll just say, you can hear everything. If you're a light sleeper, which I am not, you might woken up if there are loud cars or trucks driving by. I tend to sleep like a rock, but was woken up twice by (what I assume were) bigger/louder cars driving by.
Again, for a night's stay the price was right, but I don't think I'd stay here again.
