We had wonderful dinner with friends, one of my favorite meals so far being in Mexico was the brisket tamale and a banana purée it was so different , so unique and so flavorful we really enjoyed. I think all of us got the same thing. The next day we were able to go for a really long, beautiful, walk along the golf course and enjoyed the different bodies of water and little streams . We stopped into the island bar just outside of the driving range and had a wonderful Maccallen 18 year scotch whiskey sitting next to the Koi pond. So relaxing such a perfect day . It's definitely a club that you would want to spend the majority of your time at. Kid friendly , dog friendly, human friendly ... spot on in every way.... ( feeling the vibe to buy property here.) truly an oasis in the country.
I stayed here for a retreat and it was great, it was beautiful and very nice. Only one problem is…read morethat I was there for a dinner and I ordered the vegetarian meal and I didn't get any food for first and second plates. I know so weird, right? And the girl at Starbucks was a little rude, I paid with card and wanted to get some change for a taxi but she wouldn't do it. And she literally had some change.

This boutique hotel isn't cheap, but a quick search of some of the other options in the area…read moresuggested it would worthwhile to pay a little extra to stay here. And I wasn't disappointed. The front desk was super friendly and check-in was quick. The room was immaculate, the view of the lake was incredible, the bed was comfortable, the shower was super bougie and the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries made for a classy touch. On the day of the check out, they were nice enough to extend us until 3 PM, though it was Sunday so I can't imagine they were expecting too many incoming guests that day. My only real complaint is the breakfast portion. The breakfast was "included in the stay," but in reality it was a separate charge of over $25 US that was included in the total stay. The option to decline breakfast would have been nice, but it wasn't an option. As for the breakfast itself, the beans were cold and the service was bad. We got our juice and fruit plates after the main breakfast dishes were already served. Aside from that, towels by the pool would have been nice, but the front desk was pretty quick to come out and ask us if we wanted them not long after we arrived poolside. Unfortunately, the nice views require an uphill climb on cobblestone streets the way back to the hotel if you want to go downtown on foot. Otherwise, you'll have to rely on local taxis. No Uber in Valle.

Wish I would've had more time to enjoy the outdoor pool. Pros: Spectacular views. Very peaceful. Our room included its own pool, had its own amazing mountain view, and had a cool water fountain. Cons: The room was very "traditional" with rough stone floors that really hurt my feet. You must climb up what feels like a small mountain to get to your room. No elevators in sight. I watched several older guests really struggle. No A/C. Enough said. Overall: 1 star. Hospitality is not their speciality. They recently overcharged us several hundred dollars. They claim they gave our rate to another guest with the same common last night, and refuse to make it right. Looks aren't everything.

The place looks so nice in the pictures, and to be fair, the views were outstanding. But the room featured hard as rocks mattress, dimly lit bathroom with rough rock floor that was uncomfortable to walk on in bare feet. The worst part was that we were overcharged by a couple hundred bucks. I missed it at check out as I converted the pesos incorrectly when I signed off at check out. When we checked the bill a couple days later, we called the hotel for help. They blamed us for paying too much. I would steer very clear of this place.

The young men working were friendly, enthusiastic, and took joy in their work and presentation. Our meal was delicious and at 3 courses for 100 pesos, it was a steal of a deal! The menu for the day included tangerine water, bread & butter, your choice of tortilla or mushroom soup, salad, and your choice of grilled meats, pumpkin bolognese, or potato lasagna (vegetarian). Highly recommend stopping in for a meal and, I plan to return before we leave Valle!
