This boutique hotel isn't cheap, but a quick search of some of the other options in the area…read moresuggested it would worthwhile to pay a little extra to stay here. And I wasn't disappointed.
The front desk was super friendly and check-in was quick. The room was immaculate, the view of the lake was incredible, the bed was comfortable, the shower was super bougie and the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries made for a classy touch. On the day of the check out, they were nice enough to extend us until 3 PM, though it was Sunday so I can't imagine they were expecting too many incoming guests that day.
My only real complaint is the breakfast portion. The breakfast was "included in the stay," but in reality it was a separate charge of over $25 US that was included in the total stay. The option to decline breakfast would have been nice, but it wasn't an option. As for the breakfast itself, the beans were cold and the service was bad. We got our juice and fruit plates after the main breakfast dishes were already served.
Aside from that, towels by the pool would have been nice, but the front desk was pretty quick to come out and ask us if we wanted them not long after we arrived poolside.
Unfortunately, the nice views require an uphill climb on cobblestone streets the way back to the hotel if you want to go downtown on foot. Otherwise, you'll have to rely on local taxis. No Uber in Valle.
