Not every bookstore can offer lake views while you sit and enjoy a coffee. That's definitely the highlight of this Librería Porrúa. However, the bookstore didn't seem that well taken care of or well stocked. The books seemed older, and I was surprised that they had so few books in English since other bookstores in Mexico City typically have a pretty good selection. The bookstore seemed more of a cafe with a small bookstore, rather than the other way around. But there's lots of seating and those views are incredible. I do think there are better bookstores in Mexico City, however! Stop by if you're in the area, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way!

It's a charmy, quirky little bookshop - messy shelves stuffed with books and a few arm chairs on the second floor of a pretty building. I stopped by with a friend last Saturday and quickly found two books to take on the plane home with me the following day. Great prices, plenty to choose from, and very quirky - it's a great place for English speakers/readers to stop by if in Mexico City.

Books are organized by topic and piled high on shelves. Writing for travel sections at newspapers, I enjoyed their more local guides to Mexico City.

There is also a café that offers customers WiFi with purchase. There are also plenty of tables, chairs, and comfortable sofas for customers to sit and read. I found a book that was interesting alled El Cerebro Del Futuro and I'm going to give it a try. Spanish is not native to me and I hope that this book will help me with my Spanish learning journey. As soon as I sat down my belongings and pulled out my laptop since I was there to study and maybe grab a bite to eat if I got hungry, the waiter approached me with the menu. I told him that perhaps I'd be interested in ordering a little bit later and thanked him anyway. He walked away very awkwardly and gave me a dirty look. Later on I started to look around and see if there were any wall outlets to plug in my laptop and I was informed by one of the other waiters that the only outlets they had available were upstairs to my surprise none of them free and available. I came back downstairs to my table and the waiter that had first approached me and kept walking back-and-forth very eyeing me as if trying to figure out my next move. Not even exaggerating, it was really uncomfortable. I didn't think I was doing anything wrong since I saw other students sitting at different tables studying as well but I didn't notice a difference in the way that he was giving them service and the tending to them and a very courteous and polite way. I decided to order a T and when I called him over he was again very awkward not even making eye contact and had a smug look on his face. Payed for my tea and left. Place is cute and all but wow really disappointed with the service. Really uncomfortable experience.
