We've been in Lisbon for 9 days now. Although I love fish, was looking forward to a non fish meal to break things up. Came across this gem not far from our Airbnb in Graca. It is very modern inside compared to most of the restaurants we visited. You can get steaks, veal, seafood or you can get them in a hanging skewer with a coup,e different meats. We got the beef and sausage skewer and the salmon, tuna, halibut skewer. Each came with a salad bar and boiled veggies came with the seafood skewer. The 3 of us shared 2 skewers ( plenty of food) and they said we could each have a salad bar. We also ordered the vegetable rice, bottle of wine, 2 beers and 2 desserts-lime cheesecake and a chocolate pie. Our bill was 53€!!!! The place was very full-we arrived around 9p and they close at 10. Very nice option especially if you want to try something other than the typical grilled fish. read more

Planned our whole day around dinner at this seemingly great spot. We had to be seated outside in the cold although half of the inside was empty at 7pm. Then we got treated like second class citizens and ignored for 20 mins without water and without anyone taking our oder. Eventually I began asking anyone who passed by to at least give us water and take our order. I even asked the homeless guy and his dog if we could get food. Eventually someone took pity on us paying customers and came with water and they found the one waiter who would be able to help us. We ordered steak and wine and seafood and said ok the night can get better. We cheer up and go with the flow. Doing our best to stay positive on vacation. Our food arrives bleeding and under-cooked (no one asked us how any of the meat should be done), so we waited and no one came. We were thinking we could maybe send it back to be medium or medium well but nope. At that point we were so cold and hungry that I sold my dignity and went back inside to ask again for one of the many empty tables indoors and said they are being held for reservations. They said they couldn't oblige so we ate cold bleeding steak and undercooked food and asked for our check the check that came 30mins later too. Absolutely horrid experience. We took the undercooked bleeding steaks to go and will cook them at our airbnb to revive some faith in humanity. Horrible experience, your mileage may vary but I doubt it. Steer clear. Even the hole in the wall places were nicer, friendlier, faster, cheaper and more considerate. read more

Meat quality is poor. Even beef loin is tough. I've been going for decades because friends meet there but the meat was always of a low and tough quality. I went for my last time tonight. Even the beef loin I ordered was not tender. Mostly just tourists now and that is their current business, as long as they keep going. Nice looking place these days and is probably great for tourists who think it's a local place because of the location but pretty much a rip. A trap to be sure. read more

We were on the hunt for some steak and stumbled upon amazing photos on Yelp, at first their skewer photos made it look like an all you can eat Churasceria. First and foremost those of you from the states will attest that these prices were beyond a sweet deal. I had a 500 gram (.88 pound) Wagyu and they happen to have Australian that day for 42.50 Euros. In the states I would have been lucky to get 100 grams for this price. My daughter had a rack of lamb 7 pieces (new not on the menu yet) I thought oh boy a robbery and that was 11 Euro! My wife had a 300 gram (.44 pound) Rib Eye (Chuck Steak) for about 980 Euro and my kids had a giant kids meal Sirloin for 5.30 Euros. Wine and everything 89 Euro are you kidding me! High quality of the food was amazing highly recommended! read more

The rabbit was fine. Didn't realize it had so many small bones. It was hard to get to the meat. The pork tenderloin was well cooked. The average review is that we paid cash and they gave us nearly $20 change all in euro coins. For a nice steakhouse, that is unacceptable. read more

It was our last night in Lisbon and we wanted to enjoy something other than seafood and this place came highly recommended by our Uber driver. All I can say is .... thank goodness for him! The steaks we ordered were absolutely delicious- cooked to perfection and the serving sizes were more than generous, and our waitress was so great. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal in Lisbon. read more

Our group of 6 was pretty tired from walking around all day so we wanted to eat nearby. We saw this place on yelp and with only 2 euro signs and the pics, we decided to try it. Great decision! Beautiful inside, we finally got a salad and some vegetables, and the kabobs were amazing! A bottle of wine, 3 beers, 2 sides and 3 kabobs for €90 (only €30 a couple) was a steal! Felt like a fancy dinner without having to get dressed up, or the expensive price tag! read more

Overall this was a good experience, having said that I think there are better places in town. Our group of four ordered 2 bife do Acem (Ribeye) steaks, a picanha (rump steak) and the grilled rabbit. The rabbit was probably the best dish, the picanha was also good, the ribeye though could not compete with what I am used to in Texas - but that was my bad for choosing an American cut of meat in Europe. The selection of desserts was pretty good and the ones we chose were all excellent (if you like sweet desserts that is). The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but I would probably give it another shot although I would opt for traditional Portuguese cuts rather than a Ribeye. Even though we are in the new millennium Carvoraria Jacto does not accept credit cards - go figure! read more

The black pork medallions wrapped in bacon were stupendous. Lots of locals but waitstaff could handle English speakers without any trouble. We didn't really fight the parade of appetizers but we also didn't really care so speak up if you don't want something. Carnivores -- you'll do just fine here. Tip -- portions are family-style. Our last dinner in Lisbon... Last meal of our Europe backpacking... And very wisely chosen. This place should get more visitors, but it appeared to be enjoyed only by the locals. The wait staff seemed to be able to understand and speak basic English and took care of us well. We ordered way more food for two people, as it was our last... and terminated all. Of course, we "rolled" back to our Air BnB house. They have a few appetizers already made and is displayed by your waiter for your choosing. Don't remember exactly what we had but our choice of 3 or 4 were all very delicious... Especially the combo of cracker/pumpkin jam/cheese. We had their special steak combo which came from some special farm. Four pieces of perfectly cooked meat came in a skewer with a hanging stand. A view I had not been able to experience in the past. I drulled as the steak drulled it's wonderful juice while I pulled it from its sword-skewer, and continued to due so until all of them were gently placed in our stomachs. Of course, the two desserts out of their many offerings, were phenomenal. The bill for all of the above, and two beers was somewhere around US$ 40. If you're into meat you're gonna enjoy this restaurant! They have good meat with some local Portuguese small productions types of beef with lots lots of taste to get your teeth into it. Not expressive, in New York you would pay 60 bucks for something you'll pay 20 in here. Good wine options. The ambiance is like a Portuguese grill. It gets crowded, but worth to wait for a table. read more

Great little spot! The staff spoke English. The thankfully we had a reservation as the place got really busy (Tuesday). The meat is delicious and very filling. As the place was busy the staff were quite busy as well, patience is required . We only found out when paying that only Portuguese cards are accepted. I would recommend a visit. read more
