Not so clear... Clearcreek. This is the creek you need to avoid. Read my review and youll know why.
Ashley O.

I live right up from the boat ramp/park, its beautiful, most times clean, and has bathrooms! So heres the drawback... Parking...? Pssh yeah right youll more then likely have to park up the road hike a mile to get to there. Be careful though, if you park before you hit williams gas plant youll get fined and even towed. Water quality...? The actual river itself is clean! BUT the small river feeding into it is not. Its called clear creek. A guy named Emmert, Yeah as in Emmert International... He owns water buffalo. The beasts are right up stream from us and we get all the crap in the water from them. In the news paper in a very small artical (no one wants to step on his toes because hes a high mucky mucky man...) it said his buffalo were making the ECOLI levels in clear creek 2,700 Yes thats twenty seven hundred times what its supposed to be. He gets fined every month for it but he has so much money he doesnt care lol. Anyways so that creek you see kids and dogs playing in, yeah thats the one I'm talking about. Theres no signs up saying to be careful and not drink the water. And soooo many children and dogs get hurt every year from ecoli poisoning and they have no idea why. NOW YOU DO! Be careful and always do your homework. People around the carver area have had their animals die before and he has no sympathy and doesnt care. People...? There are so many different people who go there. Its really a wonderful thing to see everyone having fun and getting along. But there is alot of alcohol there and alot of fights break out. Police are there often and it causes alot of traffic. Its ridiculous sometimes. Traffic...? There is sertain times you should go and should not go... Noon till 6 is the worst! there is so much traffic and this year they are redoing the carver bridge, so I no idea whats going to happen this year. So just be prepared to sit in traffic a while. Overall I love this park, and I go there often but theres alot of drawbacks to it.

Bring a friend and your SPF and enjoy a beautiful float down the river. Oregon is amazing!

Love this park because the trails are accessible for those of us with mobility issues. With my…read morecane, I was able to make my way through the gravel and the dirt trails easily and take in the beautiful wildflowers of spring. In April, the prairie area is filled with deep blue camas, and a few white ones sprinkled in. In mass, they paint the prairie blue. Up close, you can see the intricate detail, petals in shades of blue and even purple, with bright yellow eyes in each flower. They are one of my faves! As you leave the sunny prairie, you are instantly in a shady patch of forest and feel far away from the city, even though you are not. Birds chirping is nature's music as you wander the various loops and check out wildflowers nestled under the trees. I spotted Star of Bethlehem, Wild Geranium, Saskatoon, False Solomon's Seal, Field Sorrel, Prairie Mallow, Woodland Violet, and some common daisy. There are benches along the way if you need a rest or just want to stop and breath in the luxury of being in this little magical place. Along the north side, there are views of the Williamette River. In addition to the trails which are off to the right, there is a playground with a basketball court, swings, slides and play gym, all of which were in use this weekday. There is also a decent bathroom, which is very much appreciated. This park is at the end of a neighborhood where the streets are narrow. As you navigate up through the hills, be aware that children are playing. Before the park there is a dirt area for cars and if you go just a little further, a small paved parking area for about 8 cars with one designated handicap spot. This is a fabulous neighborhood park that welcomes visitors like me. April is the perfect time to visit if you want to see the beautiful fields of camas.

This is such a cute little park and I'm so glad I found it. It's very scenic and despite the nearby…read morecliffs being pretty dangerous (there's signs everywhere), this is a nice place to take your kids if you want to waste some time on a playground. There is a small walking trail around the park which is nice enough, and it all seems well maintained. Directions to get here are a little strange with apps but after driving through a residential neighborhood you'll reach it. Nice spot! I'll be back when I'm back in the area in the future.

Theoretically, there is also a free boat dock, but at the time of writing, a very large tree is fallen across it. Restrooms and garbage are maintained by Oregon State Parks. When I visited, it was pretty clean. The trail along the river is very pretty, although I was only able to access about a mile of it before it got too flooded to hike through. I noticed lots of poisonous plants including poison oak, snowberries, and hemlock. But also tons of moss, lichens, and ferns. In addition to the picnic tables in the picnic areas, there were also several solitary tables set out along the river. This is great for a more solitary picnic, taking a break during a long bike ride, or getting some privacy for drawing or Journaling. Overall just about as good as it gets for free.

They don't have any trail maps posted, however, so we weren't sure of the distance of the trails or where they went. One trail follows close to the river, and that was nice, with a mix of open sun and shaded forest. The trails were mostly flat dirt or gravel, no strenuous inclines. There's a large off-leash dog exercise area. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash in the rest of the park, but sadly most owners were just letting their dogs run the trails off-leash. They have picnic tables & a good, clean restroom facility as well.
