And I learned that the namesake is tied to U.S. Route 20, which is a historic highway that runs across the United States Oregon to Massachusetts. The portion of the highway here is designated as a scenic byway. So, apparently Route 20 Ice Cream has been in business for more than two decades, and for good reason. It is clearly a local favorite and you can find couples and whole families out with the kids enjoying there ice cream here. It feels vintage, home grown and very loved. And there is a flavor for everyone. So many choices of soft serve, sundaes, milkshakes, flurries, floats and specialty offerings. Flavor are abound, including cinnamon apple, peanut butter, fudge, strawberry cheesecake, banana cream, black cherry, butter pecan, cotton candy and French vanilla. They also sale by the pint. There is also ample parking in the lot, with some seats on the grounds to enjoy your ice cream.

They have an exclusive parking lot, which is very convenient for their patrons. That's important to note because streetside parking near the bakery, florist and the taco store can be a nightmare. The Little Caboose has a handicap ramp for anyone needing assistance. There is an over abundance of delectable Perry's ice cream flavors which can be made into milkshakes, hurricanes, ice cream floats, ice cream sundaes, ice cream cones, and ice cream in a cup. We were greeted by a very friendly teenager, who patiently took our orders, made suggestions, and accommodated every wish my boys had. The serving sizes are extremely generous, so if you've been enjoying ice cream at other shops, you really owe it to yourself to try out these very large servings at extremely reasonable prices . We had a great time eating our ice cream at the street side benches in the warm afternoon sun. After we returned home, I looked up their Facebook page and discovered that they run very nice promotions throughout the season. I uploaded several of their images to this review. Most notable was a big sale on the last day of business, which turned into a free giveaway late in the afternoon. People were encouraged to bring their Tupperware to take away any remaining ice cream that was left at the end of the shift. That certainly says a lot about the integrity of this seasonal business.

Since Harlie can't go inside to order, our chauffeur orders his, pays and then babysits while I go in to get her cone. I'm just the ice cream delivery system! The two young ladies holding down the fort were sweet, complimentary of Harlie's beauty (she's SO vain, she knows it!!!) and very helpful. Perry's ice cream, a local favorite, and lots of choices! Cute tables outside, where more Harlie fans gathered to lick cones and gaze upon her beauty. It was a good evening and Addie's was a great find! FYI their LARGE is HUGE!!!
