That being said, the cakes were plentiful and looked great, the service was swift and with a smile, and although the food on offer at lunch was pretty basic and what you would expect from a standard pub, it was damn tasty and cooked to perfection. Plenty of high chairs available for the many little people that brought their parents along and I have to say that the atmosphere was quite homely, very much what we needed at the time and lovely pick-me-up after getting soaked in the rain. This place is unlikely to blow you away, you will probably have to share it with grandmothers and babies, but you will eat well, you will be comfortable, and you will not be over-charged. Oh, lunch orders stop at 2.30pm, make sure you don't miss out, they are pretty prompt when stopping service.

One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Served with a choice of either fries or chunky wedges (think roast potato wedges and you'll get the idea). The cafe makes its own hot sauces and strawberry jams, all of which you should try if you get a chance as they're all scrumptious. You can even buy jars of the sauces to take home. Service is warm & friendly and you're made to feel incredibly welcome the second you walk in the door to the moment you leave. If you're on the lookout for something a bit more genuine and satisfying than what the nearby commercial chains can offer this is the place!

However I was very impressed by facilities in the shop etc. Besides a good range of seeds (acres and acres of Thompson and Morgan and others) they also sell a lot of crafty-gifty type goods. You can get your fancy fudge or jars of stuff here. They also have what can only be described as a frozen pick and mix. Freezers, scoops, bags ready for you to pick the portions you wanted. This included various mixes of frozen fruit and veg (including winter root mix, or roasted veg mix) and also frozen pastries and pies, often of the posher brie and cranberry etc types. There's a café, with modern art on the walls and what looks like a nice menu and nice, newly built loos. Card racks which we had to tear ourselves away from (lots of funnies and no time to read), and a wooden version of a stone circle outside (see picture). Well worth a visit, even if you aren't into plants. Shopoholics will enjoy it anyway.

We have had tea/coffees and delicious light meals here a few times. There is a wide choice on the menu including some vegetarian dishes, all reasonably priced. The service is good too.
