Traditional roadside cafe, situated just off the A303 at its junction with the A3088, between Ilchester and South Petherton. It's situated in a leafy picnic area, next to the South Somerset tourist information centre.
The airy cabin-like cafe has WiFi, good toilets, and there is an outdoor eating area as well, though it can get very busy.
Staff are down to earth and friendly (it's popular with truckers, as well as families).
The very traditional menu comprises all-day breakfasts, mixed grills, burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, omelettes, jacket potatoes and (of course) chips; and traditional puddings for dessert. There's quite an extensive vegetarian menu as well.
It offers a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including proper mugs of tea.
Prices are very reasonable - mains run from £6.50 up to a steak dinner at £10.95. read more
