We were greeted when we walked in and then left alone to browse. We tried on a couple of sweaters and leggings but ended up buying the sweater, a keychain and some underwear that was on sale. The selection was good for an outlet, there were a ton of great options and had I been in the mood to carry a bunch of bags around the mall I probably would've bought more. Check out was okay, took a little longer than normal due to the cash register timing out and having to move to another one- no biggy just a slight slow down. Employees were friendly and not pushy when it came to looking around, I would return.

It kept me so warm and toasty in the brutal upper Midwest winters. I discovered the Marmot brand here in the 1990s. Back in the 1990s, Patagonia was not considered as "technical" and as bougie as Marmot and The North Face. Arcteryx either didn't exist or was an obscure brand almost thirty years ago. Now, Patagonia and Arcteryx are off-the-charts insanely priced. Marmot and The North Face are considered "value" brands. In any case, I still buy Marmot; it's better quality and far better value than Patagonia because: 1. Higher down fill power and 2. Higher down fill weight I recently bought a 700-fill down parka from Marmot with 220 grams of down for far less money than a 600-fill down parka with 150 grams of down from Patagonia. I was cold in the Patagonia parka, and it was horribly expensive. I had to return. I also bought coats from Eddie Bauer and from L.L. Bean. Nowhere nearly as warm as Marmot. The Marmot down parka that I recently bought is called the Montreaux Coat, and I've yet to find a warmer coat at such a great price point. It hits my knee, although it's supposed to hit my calf, so that's a bit misleading on their website. It's closer to parka length than coat length. I like that when the zipper broke after almost twenty years of owning my first Marmot down jacket, I called Marmot's Customer Service, they sent me a shipping label, and they said that they would gladly repair the zipper for me, for free. When they couldn't repair the zipper, they just sent me a new Marmot down jacket. So, I wore that complimentary replacement jacket for another ten years before finally buying the Montreaux coat this year almost thirty years after buying my first Marmot down jacket from Fontana Sports.

The nice young woman that helped us at REI was super friendly and willing to help us learn about boots and what we needed to look for. She found ONE pair of boots in stock (bad time to boot shop, unfortunately for us) that fit. We were on our way to try on some used boots elsewhere, but thanked her for her time and maybe we'd see her again. We weren't looking to buy NEW boots (for a new skier), but we were running out of options. After striking out with a Craigslist listing, we shopped around some other stores, but ended up back at REI. Our salesperson recognized us and hopped over to see what was up. We got the boots and, thankfully, they were on a great sale. I've shopped REI a bit before - they feel expensive, but they carry good stuff. They are always friendly when helping us, and we've never had issues with products or returns. They're doing a good job with social distancing, hand sanitizer, etc. I appreciate those efforts.

The lady told me that wide toe box was just a selling thing that 2 E , 3 E and 4 E wide was pretty much the same thing. I tried several different pairs and settled on a pair that I thought was right. After a couple days I was getting blisters and returned. This time I talked with the owner. She said that the shoes I have are not wide toe box she possibly could help them if they were stretched but no returns. Stretching only slightly helped them I guess I'll have to save these for occasional wearing I can't afford to toss them with $140. Invested Back to Amazon searching for a better fit. You can find an assortment of designer items for reasonable prices. You may find a few things you may as well get new but great finds for the most part! They keep the store very clean and the service is generally very friendly. There is one clerk who hasn't been in very good moods but you'll find that anywhere. The consignment aspect is a nice feature if you're interested. You can either cash out if your items are purchased or keep it as store creddonates. Will sort theough your items and take things that corespond with the current season. Note: they only keep your unsold items for so long and if you don't come to pick it up by the set date, it will get donated. There isn't a reminder that I know of so that's a downside. Overall, it's a great alternative to online places like Poshmark or Mercari to sell your items and shop for cute quality clothes, plus, it's great to stay local!
