I put in a request for a quote which came back fast and was scheduled for the next week. The guys that came out were knowledgeable and professional. Their fee for a report was much cheaper than others I had requested and exceeded my expectations.

I hired, $800.00 this engineering firm for a limited structural inspection of my home (less than…read more1,000 square feet) in October 2025. They provided a written report with pictures. The report was used by a contractor to develop repair recommendations, which were based on the absence of any noted wood rot or significant deterioration. However, after obtaining a second independent opinion, significant wood rot was discovered once flooring was opened in May 2026. This created a serious discrepancy between the original report and the actual condition of the structure. Wet wood is a sign of deterioration, And the report recommends that you sister boards on the side of wet deteriorating boards top of it. And Giles Flythe ( Christopher Flythe) emailed me the following: "However, staining or organic substances or wet wood does not necessarily mean rot or deterioration." REALLY Is this what I paid $800 for. Wet wood is the first sign of deterioration. You cannot tell me my eyes are lying as the screwdriver penetrates the wood. As the wood falls apart while the contractor is removing it. This is what rotten wood looks like plain and simple! I will NOT be Gas Lit. We then contacted Christopher (Chris) Flythe at the firm to request clarification. In addition, we offered to coordinate a site visit back to the house to review the findings. I requested that Chris provide 3 days of availability for us to consider. After a date was chosen we would send a meeting invite. Instead of moving toward a resolution, Chris sent the following message from his I phone: "No I am willing to meet they need to provide 3 dates: " Christopher A. Flythe, PE Giles Flythe Engineers Sent from my iPhone It is my opinion that this reply was unprofessional and very immature. This reply is one of the many examples of how difficult it was to have a productive discussion with Giles Flythe ( Christopher Flythe) or review the concerns in person. Based on my experience, the inspection did not identify material issues later confirmed by another contractor, and communication afterward did not lead to clear answers or resolution. It is universal knowledge: Communication Is Key. Giles Flythe ( Christopher Flythe), this company, does not recognize that communication is key, and this demonstrates a major FAULT and RED FLAG for Giles Flythe ( Christopher Flythe).

We verbally agreed for a civil engineering report for flooring. It was a fixed price "contract"…read more The problem was everything was verbal. I discussed the situation before and offered to send photos which they declined. The representative came out and said there was nothing they could do without removing the lower floor ceiling to see the exposed beams. That would have cost thousands to repair. Later, my housemate suggested the flooring be lifted as it was going to be replaced anyway, a suggestion Tyndall, if experienced would have made. We had areas exposed by the GC and Tyndall returned and issued an invoice. I paid in full and received the electronic report, more than 60% of which were just photos of the house as filler. As a result of them having to return for another site visit, due to their inexperience, they charged another fee, almost equal to the report. This is dishonest. However, I offered to cover some of the second site visit costs which they refused. Contracts listing the scope of work, even in a brief email, would have prevented this double dipping. I trusted their professionalism. That was clearly misplaced.
