The bartender was super friendly and helpful with questions about the town. The bathrooms were clean for a bar. By the time we left, the bar filled in and the conversation between locals and those of us passing through was like one big open room of friendly people learning about each other. We all took a gamble at the Shake a Day and were feeling content with meal and entire experience. The Highwood community clearly is made up of special, hard working, friendly people. The Brown Burger is a monstrous two patties that also carries ham, bacon and cheese. My big buddies order it, but I stick with the patty melt, and often ask for pastrami on it. The burgers taste hand-made (we know they are) and won't do you wrong. They have hand-cut fries and sweet potato tots, too. On a positive note, unlike the rest of the region, they don't use iceberg lettuce, rather fresh greens. The salad is far better than you'd expect.
