    Piano Pavilion - PIANO PAVILION

    Piano Pavilion

When we bought our piano almost a month ago, Adam offered to polish the piano and re-felt the pedal…read morebefore it was delivered. It arrived caked in dust and grime with the felt flapping out underneath where he obviously couldn't even be bothered to trim it off. It needed tuning, Adam said he'd send the tuner (John) round the following week. Three weeks later and we had to call Adam and John multiple times to get an appointment arranged. When we did finally arrange a date and time John didn't turn up til around an hour late. We'd taken time off work to be there, but John couldn't be bothered to even call or msg to let us know. When we did get though to him, he said he couldn't find us, so we directed him to where we live. Then he said that he doesn't have time to tune it to concert pitch and if we want that he'll have to come back another day. So we arrange another day, take more time off etc. John doesn't turn up and he switches his phone off. We left him a message and went to the shop to find out what was happening. Adam said he'd chase him up and get back to us. A couple of hours later we haven't heard anything so popped in on our way by, at which time Adam decided that my husband had lied to him because he didn't remember saying that it would be tuned to concert pitch (even though their website states that ALL PRE-OWNED PIANOS WILL BE RECONDITIONED/ REBUILT AS NECESSARY AND TUNED TO CONCERT PITCH) . And started calling my husband a "plonka" for expecting it to be tuned properly. We work in the music industry and Adam decided that because I'm currently learning piano that somehow us wanting to use it in our studio also, equated to us being liars. Adam proceeded to shout us out of the shop, saying that we were "trying it on" and trying to "get something out of it" by "buying a sh*tty starter piano and having it bumped up to concert pitch". (AGAIN, IT STATES ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT ALL PRE-OWNED PIANOS WILL BE RECONDITIONED/ REBUILT AS NECESSARY AND TUNED TO CONCERT PITCH) He also shouted at us that we bought the sh*ttiest piano in the shop so how could we possibly expect it to be tuned to concert pitch and that we had no idea what we were talking about. Adam had no problem telling us how lovely the "sh*ttiest piano in the shop" was when he was trying to sell it to us and said that it was left in that position in the shop because they all liked playing that one so much. In hindsight we should have realised that anyone badmouthing other local businesses, tuners, teachers and professionals to the extent that Adam Ramet did from the moment we first walked into the shop is far more likely to be the problem than the people and businesses he's badmouthing. We have now decided to keep our "sh*tty" piano and have booked a professional tuner to come and tune it to concert pitch. Hopefully this review might save someone else all the stress and upset that we've been through.
