Called them to see if they could repair a small glass table. Never received a reply.

I needed plate glass replaced in a hutch. Visited them, they didn't have the glass in stock. During business hours, if you call, they don't answer their phone. I returned during a trip to town for doctor's appointments and they were closed on a Monday mid day. I left a message indicating my frustration with 2 40 mile drives for nothing. I received a voice mail next day indicating they had been closed for the holiday (mind you I had attended 2 doctors appointments and run all my shopping errands on the "holiday") and oh by the way, we don't cut glass anymore". If a glass shop doesn't cut glass anymore....what EXACTLY do they do???? read more

Went there today to get a small piece of replacement glass for my curio cabinet door, where I display all my pageant crowns. WOW the customer service was amazing. They were so friendly, they cut the piece of glass in a matter of minutes. We actually called before we went, when we got there they remembered it was us that called. I love shopping local. As luck would have it, a window got broke at our house recently, and we needed help. We turned to Carson Valley Glass, and we couldn't have made a better choice. They did exactly what they said they would do, they did it in a timely fashion, and they kept communicating effectively. I guess American exceptionalism really is dead. I need a window replaced and have left three messages over the past week with this company. No one has bothered to call me back. From what I understand, this company has been recently bought, so the old reviews are not relevant. At this point, even if they ever do call back, I would not trust their reliability. I'm trying to stay local and support small businesses, but I'm having trouble getting hold of any local window companies. I am being forced to go to Home Depot or Lowe's. So sad. read more

We recently built a new house south of Carson City and used Carson Valley Glass for all our interior glass - both the materials and the installation. Our project included multiple bathroom mirrors (both rectangular and oval shapes), shower enclosures (frameless glass in both 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch thickness), and glass fronted kitchen cabinets. We've also used Carson Valley Glass for small projects - last year we broke one window at a small cottage. Carson Valley Glass supplied us with glass in exactly the right size to repair the window ourselves - and for a much better price than others quoted. I have lived in the Carson Valley going on three years now, but I am still astounded by the friendliness and good citizenship of the local people. Case in point: Carson Valley Glass. I called them because I needed a small piece of window glass for a project. The lady who answered took my first name and the dimensions, said it would be ready later that day. When I went to pick up the 16"X15.5" piece of glass they had had to cut to size, I was told "There is no charge." These folks don't know me from Adam. They never asked for any identifying information. I would have been more than happy to pay them the ten dollars they had quoted me, but It seems, like so many folks in the Carson Valley, they are just "good people". They are now Pella suppliers, something I wish had been the case when I built my house a few months ago. They do shower doors and general glass work. We have used Carson Valley Glass for a number of projects around our house. Most recently (during 2017) they replaced all of our windows, installed a new glass shower door and replaced the glass top in an outdoor patio table. All of our interactions have been pleasant, helpful (they know their stuff?) and on time. They get busy during the warmer months and are honest about time frames.
