The pool deck was well designed for hosting a water polo tournament and the locker room was easy to navigate and located in close proximity to the pool deck. I slipped on a banana peel and fell down the stairs ultimately shattering the finger's femur. The when I returned to school, I was pushed to the ground where a hoard of teens who were late to class trampled on my already hurt pinky causing it to grow 5 inches during the healing process. After a month of recovery, I returned to school and on my way to the gym I fell down 5 flights of stairs which ultimately ended with a crushed knee cap. Then while I limped to the nurse I walked into someone locker because they had the door open and 2 of my teeth fell out. The rest of my year was relatively peaceful. I failed a few classes, attended summer school, and volunteered at the elderly dog shelter. The trouble started all over agin next year though because I was bullied for being the shortest junior in my year and while going to report my bullies to the principle, I slipped and triple back flipped on the halls wet ground. Then I slid all the way to the top of the ten flights of stairs and stopped just before what was definitely gonna be my doom. Then when I got up, I slipped on an orange peel which someone had left on the ground and was flung down the staircase I nearly avoided. I broke my hip and cracked a rib on the way down. It was a painful fall full of a constant thumping which has now given me trauma so that whenever I hear a drum, I drift into a panic attack. I wasn't allowed to go back to school after that. I spent the rest of the year recovering from my injuries. I was homeschooled throughout my final year in high school. I was doing fine in school and had been rehabilitated to the point where I could walk. Staying away from that horrid school left me injury free. Injury free until the incident happened that is. I had to take the final in the school so they would know i didn't cheat. Despite all the signs that I should absolutely refuse, I agreed to come thinking that the worst was already over. I walked in and the hall went silent and everyone stared since the rumors of what had happened to me had spread to every student in the school. It was awkward but I just looked forward and walked towards the exam room. But, I was to busy looking forward to notice the basket ball that someone had lost control of heading my way. SMACK!!! It hit me right on the back of my skull shocking me and making me lose my balance and fall down a tall menacing flight of stairs. There was red everywhere and I could hear people screaming. It was a horrific scene. I had broken my neck and sprained my left ankle in the fall. When I reached the bottom, I crashed into an unsuspecting lunch lady holding a tall tray full of room temperature tomato soup. I had ruined the entire school's lunch and just because of this, I give Curtis High School 4 stars. That was the best scene ever and I remember it to this day.

My child is happier and that ultimately makes me happier as a parent. As it's a "co-op" these responsibilities and duties fall onto the parents, there is no paid staff besides the teacher, who gets paid minimally and works hard, to provide the children with the best possible preschool education at a affordable price. Its not her responsibility to take home and wash the laundry, clean the restrooms, provide snacks, find substitutes to work shifts when parents don't show up, etc.. Its a collaboration of all the parents working together, doing their " assigned" and required "jobs".

I'm glad to say that I have a different experience and hope that others will consider this co-op preschool. I think the biggest challenge with this school (as with any school) is that there is turnover. When the oldest class graduates and leaves for Kindergarten, there is a void that needs to be filled by the two younger classes/new families. This adjustment takes time but with strong leadership, bumps can be smoothed out rather quickly. My 4 year old son enjoys the program a lot. He loves going to school and the teacher is wonderful. The families are amazing and I think that is a big factor -- involved families will make the difference. You can't be a member of a co-op and do nothing -- it will hurt any type of success for the year. An active and cohesive Board makes a big difference too. My son has already enjoyed one field trip and is learning a lot. This class is really preparing him for Kindergarten and as a newly Stay At Home Mom, it's great being involved in his class. I know that two of the classes are full this year but I hope that other families will consider bringing their child here for preschool. Our experience started off strong as we had some really good teachers but after a new principle took over many of them jumped ship. After a very disappointing and ridiculous approach to the pandemic, we left for private school. We felt that after nearly suffocating our kids for year and a half, we were DONE. Enduring the combination of far left progressive politics infused in the classroom and oblivious approach to child development, it was apparent that, to the administration, our kids were seen as $ signs and political statements, not as people. As far as teachers, there are some VERY good people who work in this district. We have many friends who teach in district and are AMAZING in spite of their environment and the BS they put up with. Now, I would give the teachers overall a 3 star because our experience was so bipolar. One year our son had a really great teacher, who challenged him, held him accountable and pushed him to grow. The next his teacher stopped showing up after the first week. Literally no showed, leaving the whole class in disarray. Ultimately, we felt that the "luck of the draw" approach was absurd, and we subsequently left. Private school is a major sacrifice but far better, very enriching with HIGH expectations for personal responsibility. We will never go back to Puyallup Schools.

I was hoping this could have been a bus for a sports team needing to go someplace early, but instead we are given this. I am honestly disappointed in both school district and whoever sets up charter buses. You promised us a charter bus, we deserve that charter bus. Thank you.

There are 2 other teachers that also worked with Mrs. Samples who were equally as great (hopefully they're all still teaching at Summit Methodist). The patience and care these people have for the little ones is amazing. I don't know if they still allow it, but before COVID they'd let the parents sometimes sit in and watch/join in on the classes. I never did that, but heard from other parents/guardians that they loved that it was an option. I would pick my daughter up and she would consistently tell me about the awesome time she had and the stories and things she'd learn. I'd highly recommend this preschool to anyone looking for one. Something I'll share is that the snacks/drinks/utensils are done on a rotation with all the other parents/guardians. Meaning one week you'll have to buy snacks & drinks for the class and then in 2-3weeks (depending on the size of the class) you'll have to do it again. There was a baby sitting on a table by herself, lights off, with no one in the room. 2) Went to the front. Employee answered with no mask on. 3) Told employee about the baby. She casually said "oh ya, they do that all the time". 4) Brought me my baby and said "BTW two other babies had their mouths on her bottle and sippy cup so you might want to sanitize them because she has a peanut allergy right?" My daughter has a lot of dietary issues and she didn't even know her allergies when I provided the list and communicated her needs multiple times. Even dismissing the allergies, another child had their mouth on a bottle with my breastmilk in it. Who knows how much they drank... The staff couldn't explain how it happened, especially when she was supposed to be fed separately due to her allergies. They had no details because they didn't work the morning. Terrible communication. 5) End of the day toddler sheet showed 3 hours between changings (policy is supposed to be 2) and didn't log her nap. Not a huge deal but still. Against my gut I brought her the next day hoping maybe it was an off day and that I would feel better. After 3 hours I was so anxious I went and picked her up. At pick up I asked how she did and they said "She didn't cry as much as yesterday." Wth?! My baby is SO social. She loves kids and never cries around them. Huge red flag. I politely emailed and told the director I would be withdrawing my daughter and asked for a refund since she was there for less than 2 days. She sent a nasty email back. We went back and forth a few emails, and once I told her I was going to report her to the DOH, she freaked out and sent the most unprofessional email where she actually admitted to not wearing masks, verified the child on the table, and blamed my one year old for the bottle because her "preference" is to throw them. She's one.... When I went to pick up the rest of her things later two staff members didn't have masks on (still had 2 kids in the room). Worst of all, the next night a dark purple/green bruise from a bite mark set in. My 1 year old was bitten ON HER CHEST and no one notified me. They probably didn't even know it happened because of the lack of supervision. Maybe this is why she was crying the whole first day...I attached a pic. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about how this happened, especially on this area. Whatever you do, do not enroll your child here. The teachers seem nice enough but this place is a disaster. She was mad that I looked through the window without permission. I've never heard of a facility that didn't have an open-door policy for checking on your baby, and we can't go inside because of Covid. I'm glad I did because that's how I saw the baby on the desk. No wonder they don't want anyone looking with all the chaos they have going on. I don't care about the money. I wouldn't have taken my child back there even if I had paid a year up front. It's been a week, my daughter is happy at a new center, and I STILL have major mom guilt for ever bringing her there. Seriously...run!

Toward the start of the school year, I had asked if they do weekly or monthly newsletters to keep parents in the loop, and what followed after was 1 or 2, and then it stopped again. None of the staff seems happy to be there, and we never really felt welcome. Maybe I'm comparing too harshly to his last preschool where the teachers were warm, the program was clear, and they went above and beyond for everything, but I've just disappointed by this place. I'm giving it a 3 star because it's not a bad daycare, my son had some fun days there and made some friends, but I want to let other parents know my thoughts before making their decision.
