I have had the opportunity to work with the founder of teach them how to learn Ms.Allen is a…read morephenomenal educator, and she truly has a genuine heart when it comes to teaching the kids. I've also experienced firsthand how her program works in the after affects of the program, it is an amazing program for kids who are behind in their academics, as well as kids, who are accelerated in their academics. I have to honestly say I wasn't a fan of homeschooling until I met and witnessed with my own eyes how smart the kids were, who came from her home school program. She has a nine-year-old daughter who is currently enrolled in a charter school for the first time and she's in the sixth grade. She also has a six-year-old son who is currently still being homeschooled and he's testing at a third grade level. Needless to say I have started my three-year-old granddaughter in her program and she's only been there a month and she's already writing her name and identifying words. I have no doubt in my mind that she will be reading shortly. If your children are falling behind in their academics, or you would like them to increase their learning abilities, I highly recommend contacting Miss Alan, at teach them how to learn

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! THIS SCHOOL SETS YOU UP FOR FAILURE!…read more the school did not have a traditional grading system, but rather a NY, P or HP system. A P is like a c basically, and most people are happy with a c. if you fail, you can redo an assignment (which is the only plus) but if you don't, it follows you throughout the years your there, which means if you have missing assignments from like 9th grade and you a senior it stays with you, and it messes with your grade which is f-d up! but now they changed it to the traditional grading system. Which everyone who has a lot of missing assignments or failed work is f-d, because those NYS turn to Fs. did i also mention half the junior class of this year failed at least one class or more?? there were only 6 girls that were passing all their classes! most of the girls here are rude, ghetto, disrespectful, and immature. there are mature respectful girls here but for the most part the girls are rude. this school is also money hungry, and are always making new stupid changes like uniform, and requiring for students to buy them, like they have the money. student fees are almost 200 dollars, and for some students they are higher because they haven't payed them. the uniforms are so stupid, considering we never had uniform up until 10th grade. seriously, why care what you dress WHEN YOU ARE HERE FOR AN Education! uniform= professional is not the case! sure we may look professional but the girls are still gonna act like fools, and its just a shame. And this is not a private school, to the person above me. It's a public school! A poor underfunded school that doesn't have a gym or auditorium! and if you think sending your daughter here thinking she wont get pregnant think again. a lot of people in this school got preggo, and some are still in school and some didn't come back. this school is just a hot mess. Please, you are better somewhere else. This school doesn't focus on technology, we don't even have a tech class!! it was dropped! consider other schools sincerely, a student at this school.

YWLCS has taught my daughter to love herself as a beautiful black woman and helped her have opportunities in certain programs we didn't even know existed. The Principal and Vice Principal are GREAT! I was a teacher at Ivy Garden Learning Center, I've taught at different public schools in different…read morestates, and I think this is the best place that I've ever worked at because of a few reasons. The principal, Mr. Zhou, is very knowledgeable and professional in the field of education. I do not know any after school principals would do the same thing that he is doing to the kids. He takes the after school center not just as a place for the kids to stay after school, but also a place to learn and improve. He always has meetings with teachers after every single report card pick-up (including progress report) to make sure the kids are doing well. If he finds out there are kids fall behind, he would find out what the problems and help them to improve. Besides, he always pays extra for the tutors to stay longer if the are kids cannot finish homework before the tutors leave. The teachers are very passionate and nice as well, they care about the kids. You can tell when they stay over time to help the kids or talk to individual parents. The working environment is very nice as well, very spacious, all classrooms have play areas, library corners, and learning corners where kids can do extra practice on workbooks, etc. Overall, I think this is the best after school learning center I've known, and I would definitely send my kids here when I have my own.

I highly recommend this place for parents who like to improve their kids in math and reading…read more Staffs are very nice and responsible. My daughter likes to go everyday. The center worked hard with getting my daughter confortable.

I love when they have board game day! I've also been on a "field trip" with them to visit the You Are Beautiful studio. They've got a ton of stuff going on, and a mostly-comfortable, if industrial atmosphere to hang out. I'm looking forward to visiting when the nice weather returns to check out their new deck and backyard area. Glad they have open events for the public so I can enjoy an interesting time with them without paying membership fees for stuff I wont use. Their "stuff" is pretty cool though! Definitely impressive woodworking area, 3D Printer, I think they mentioned an embroidery machine and vinyl cutting machine, as well as a plethora of tools I personally wouldn't know the names of. Most importantly the members there seem very friendly and welcoming and down to earth. So I'll keep coming back.
