It is so difficult to get my daughter dress code approved. My daughter complains about how theres one class room for each grade, In my honest opinion I'd be mad too. Not to even think of it, why do children from the age of 5-14 have to pay just to get a meal?! some families tell there children to eat at school because they don't have enough ingredients for meals at home. I will be transfer my kids. NEVER coming back. Although it serves great Christian purpose. Keep in mind, this isn't a highschool, the kids are too young to be paying.

First off, the school is great. The interior of the school is very clean and simple looking, and it is not overloaded with classroom art, cracks, or a lot of what my last school had (Which was Springfield School, and I will eventually write a review for that.) I am mainly going to be reviewing the Junior High section of the school, as that's really all I ever visited and know my way around completely. I honestly don't find it appropriate to name the teachers I've had problems with, but there is a few teachers who like to draw to assumptions a lot. I've seen several cases where a student got called out for doing something that he/she hasn't even done! I happen to be one of those students. I resist arguing with the teachers about it though, as it just makes the situation worst - it's basically a lose-lose no matter what you do. However, the punishments are severe at all - That's what I like about the school. It's not a harsh punishment nor is it something that wouldn't teach a bad child a lesson. Basically if you do something bad, you simply serve a lunch detention or something like that. Only rarely have I seen people even have to go to the Principle's Office. I think this school does a good job providing education. I am in the 8th grade, and even though I tend to struggle with school - I know a lot. A suggestion I do have to the school is for the teachers to not go so quickly - i don't know if there's a certain criteria the teachers have to follow but the pace most teachers go can confuse some teachers. Lunch: The lunch program is decent It's not terrible but it's not amazing either. I'm that one guy who sometimes makes my own lunch and sometimes takes a school lunch. The way we are set up to eat is very inviting, and allows you to socialize with people younger than you as well, meaning you can make a lot of new friends simply by eating lunch. One teacher I won't name always seems to be so strict at lunch though. If you turn around for like a second just to see where a noise was coming from or something, and she catches you - instant lunch detention. I don't find that very fair. So I would give the school a 4 star rating from my personal experience here. I still have a few months to go until graduation but this school is doing a good job preparing me for high-school .Like nothing, it's not perfect - there's a few flaws with the teachers, and most of them are basically opinion-based but other than that I enjoy it here. I fail to understand why there's been several new students here that transferred about a week after. By the way, I would like to remain anonymous. I am not "Josh" like my yelp says, as I don't want any staff to look at my differently because of my review. I just want to be a reference to parents before they send their children off to this school.

My children have been coming here for over a year and I just love the communication that the teachers have with the parents. They have so many activities and family fun nights; everyone has fun on these nights, the children and the parents. My daughter who just recently turned three is learning how to write her name in her own, recognize the letters in her first and last name! I really really love how ALL the teachers work with the children. I went to work knowing my babies were and are safe! As a Staff.. I recently joined the BVLA team a couple months ago I can really say that your children are SAFE here! I was impressed! We have so much fun, from the time we enter til the time we leave! We want to make sure every single child feels welcome and safe! I truly love seeing the children with smiles on their faces everyday! I love working with my colleagues as well! We love working together and sharing ideas for our classrooms. Your baby (child) is safe here with us!

Council Oak Montessori provided a wonderful environment for my daughter to be free to be herself…read more Even though she was only there for her 6th-8th grade years (1.5 years that were during the pandemic), she had a wonderful community of teachers, staff, and friends that she will cherish forever. Additionally, during her post-pandemic learning, she received tremendous support and encouragement to rebuild her academic confidence. I wish we had found COMS sooner!
