More or less an entrance to Lake Accotink Park. This is more from the Cardinal Forest area of West Springfield. Park your car on Carrleigh Parkway, and it's probably a 1/3 of a mile to the Lake Accotink bridge. This has a lot of love locks on it. Fully enclosed with grates, if you your your phone camera wisely, good pictures or video of trains. Most are VRE or Amtrak, but an occasional Norfolk Southern makes an appearance.
The trail is nicely paved. Also there's a railing for the steep grade. Please remember this trail is shared by hikers and bikers. As soon as you walk in maple and oak trees everywhere. Aside from the train horns, it's quite peaceful. It's probably other than think it's called Queensberry Rd, the most easy way to access Lake Accotink. It is well maintained. read more
