Obtaining the services of a real estate agent is much more than "finding someone to sell your…read morehome". This is especially true if you are selling an inherited property as I was earlier this year. A good real estate agent will know the area, know the laws and rules and will help assess your home and get it listed and sold for a "good price". A great real estate agent is a counselor, a partner in your effort, someone who "has your back" throughout the process in addition to doing all of the real estate work. Philippa Main is an *outstanding* real estate agent and an even better person. My father passed away leaving a home in Woodbridge, Virginia - the home in which I grew up and which contained almost 50 years of possessions. I contacted Philippa in March of 2026 to discuss its potential sale even as the house was in significant disarray while I engaged in the slow process of cleaning it out and sorting through the many things my parents had accumulated over the years. When she visited the home, I looked around and threw up my hands. Philippa looked around and said, "we can make this happen." I sought her out specifically because she mentioned having expertise in sales of homes that are inherited - a particular niche that involves a delicate dance of handling family dynamics, wills, probate laws and determining what, if any, money should be put into renovations or improvements that will get a reasonable return on the investment. From our first conversation over the phone - which she took time to do in the middle of a busy weekend - Philippa was incredibly personable, easy to talk to and anticipated many of my questions and many of my concerns as we talked. By the end of our conversation, I felt like I was chatting with a friend who had expertise I needed. Over the following three months, she was a (rapidly-responded-to) text or phone call away as I navigated getting the house ready for sale. She helped outline a schedule and a plan to list the home. She connected me with a large network of trusted service providers from junk removers to contractors to painters to flooring experts from whom I obtained estimates and some of whom I contracted to help clear out the house and prepare it for sale. While she always reiterated that she would back any decision I made regarding the house, I always sought her counsel when making major decisions such as whether or not to spend money on renovations and, if so, which ones were most important. Of course, there were obstacles - some amusing, some less-so - but Philippa helped me handle each one with a confidence borne of having "seen it before". That is an incredibly valuable thing when dealing with a stressful situation. In the end, the home was listed in June and had nearly seventy showings in three days. The house sold for well over its asking price and after all of it I know some things: The home could have been sold by another agent. But few, if any, others could have been a partner in the process the way Philippa was for me. She was a trusted resource, a confidant, a person who knew when to inject humor into a situation and when helping me vent was what was needed - she understands people and the process of selling an inherited home in addition to being a brilliant real estate agent who knows the area and who knows how to get the job done. I couldn't recommend her more for ANY real estate work but, especially, if you face the task of preparing and selling an inherited property.

It's been a few years since my last review and PJ is still our go-to realtor in the Northern VA…read morearea. This time around he represented my mom in selling her house (and I as her unofficial project manager/liaison) in the craziest seller's market we've encountered in recent years (May 2022). Since working with PJ last, his expertise in the area, the market, the regulations, and in negotiations have only grown. However, what has not changed is his kindness, patience, and desire to put his clients' best interest first. In this case, PJ helped my mom and I navigate through the selling process in such a crazy market and through a multiple offer situation. PJ advised on a selling strategy that he predicted would get my mom the best deal and within the ball park price she was looking to sell the house for. This included some repairs and renovations to the home we needed to do in order for the house to look as presentable as possible to sell. PJ helped us determine and prioritize only the necessary renovations needed so that we could take advantage of the hot seller's market before the next interest rate hike, rather than wait for a full-scale renovation to be completed (because who knows how long that could take?). Did I mention that my mom has retired and resides oversees and I'm still in California?? So, during the times I couldn't be present in VA to oversee the work being done by our general contractor + other contractors, PJ would happily step up to the plate to be present for our home improvement team and cover any new costs incurred. This also meant PJ had to work through an 11-hour time difference with my mom and a 3-hour time difference with me from a communication standpoint, and he absolutely did it with ease and so much patience! In the end, all the renovations he suggested made a significant difference to give the home a much needed facelift, all the while saving my mom tens of thousands of dollars that she initially had planned to spend on updates. Once the house was ready to be listed, it was GO-time and PJ really worked his magic. His marketing for the house was top-notch and he had the most beautiful photographs taken with the home digitally staged. I'm a professional photographer and even I could hardly tell that the photos had fake furniture haha. In addition to other photo and video assets he had produced by his talented creative team, he also was able to spread the word about the house within his network a few days before even listing it on the MLS. All of this was highly effective because in only 4 days of being listed, we had 130+ groups tour the home, over 10 offers sent to us, and a bidding war situation! By the 5th day of being listed, negotiations were underway between the top 3 offers and finally on the 6th day, we had selected an incredible offer and was officially under contract! When I say incredible I really mean it - almost 200k over asking price, no contingencies, and a 3-week close!!!! The entire time while in escrow was smooth sailing and everything happened as expected. This was everything and more than what my mom and I could have hoped for, and it was all due to PJ's guidance and help! After having worked with PJ throughout the years on several occasions now, I can attest PJ is more than your average realtor! He genuinely cares about his clients and will go out of his way to support them! Real estate is more than his career, it is his passion and you can see it and feel it in his energy. He truly loves what he does and he loves to help people accomplish all their real estate goals! My mom and I cannot recommend PJ enough to anyone looking to buy or sell and will be turning to him for any real estate needs in DC and Virginia in the future!

It would be impossible to describe how POSITIVE of an experience it was to work with Laura!…read moreEverything went soooooo smoothly from start to finish and Laura was that driver for us! She always made us feel like her #1 priority even though we knew she was busy with other clients: she made time for us on-a-dime, was always present, on-time or early, and was incredible good at scheduling around all of our busy schedules. Laura is an AMAZING communicator: was quick and responsive and always provided us with thorough details and explanations. Laura provided us (first-time home buyers) with an incredible wealth of knowledge and advice when we requested and had great insights. She also has an extensive personal network that helped us start our lender search, find a day-of home inspector, and contractors to help us get started on our new-home projects. She understood our home buying strategy, and helped us get our dream house on our FIRST offer! Her advice and guidance was instrumental in us landing the house we had our hearts set on! We will work with Laura again for any future home purchase. I would recommend Laura to any and EVERYONE!

Laura was recommended to us as a top agent in the DMV area with impressive transaction volume each year. Although we identified multiple agents through our search, we immediately decided to work with Laura after our initial video call because we were impressed by her knowledge of the local housing market and all aspects of real estate transaction. We are so grateful that we did! We were buying a condo in a very competitive area. Every time when we made an offer, we had a competing offer and had to act very quickly to make our offer more competitive. Laura worked around the clock to prepare the comparative market analysis, tour the units with us, crafted and advised us on compelling offer terms and negotiated with the seller agents. Our closing had some extra complexities due to the condo building's financing approval being expired. Laura skillfully helped us navigate this issue. She proactively included relevant language in our offer to protect us from such financing issue before we even knew there was an issue with the condo building. After we discovered the issue, Laura was in constant communication with the seller's agent, condo building and mortgage broker to speedily resolve the issue and ensure we could close on time within 3 weeks. Laura's price prediction and recommendations were spot on when we submitted our offer. She recommended us to adjust our offer to a certain price to increase our chance of sealing the deal at our offer price (instead of activating the price escalation clause and resulting in us paying a higher price). We were able to be the winning offer because of Laura's excellent communication skills and expert advice. We followed Laura's recommendation and did not have to pay more than our offer price for the condo. The appraisal ended up being higher than our purchase price. We are grateful that Laura helped us secure our dream home at a great price. Laura was extremely responsive and patient. We had a lot of questions as first-time home buyers. Laura patiently answered all of our questions at any time of the day. Despite her busy schedule, she accommodated our challenging schedules and requests under short notice every single time, which enabled us to close our home with great success. We could not have asked for a better realtor to share this home purchase journey with. Thank you Laura for being an outstanding, caring and dedicated realtor!

My first call was obviously to Devon. She did an awesome job handling our 2018 purchase and there was nobody I trust as much as her (and Dustin's okay, too!). Our plan of action swept a large area, more so focusing on the right "fit." As we upgraded to a "forever home" it was important that I got everything on my list - or as darn near close as I could! In doing so, I took up many evenings and weekends of Devon's time! As the process went on, we found "the one"--perfect layout; size; location; features; large, landscaped yard --it checked all the boxes. We knew it wouldn't last long in the competitive COVID market. To accommodate us for the fastest showing (we wanted to get in before the open house) we were able to tour with Shruthi--a member of the Fox Homes team. While I was hesitant to go without Devon, Shruthi's attention to detail and customer-focus mirrored Devon's and it was a seamless experience. After the tour, Devon provided critical information get our FIRST offer accepted during the craziness of COVID. Yes, money helps, but there's a reason "foxes sell faster," they know the market and what it takes to WIN. There are so many things I can say about Devon's patience, sense of humor, and attention to detail, but I hope you have the chance to find out for yourself... and when you do, I'll see you at the next Fox Homes event!

While the home-buying process itself was smooth, our move-out experience was the complete opposite. As a family with young children, we were repeatedly questioned and made to feel uncomfortable over normal wear and tear......things like minor drywall nicks that are expected in any home with kids. These were already being addressed on our end with a contractor, as we had communicated. Despite agreeing to cover repairs and forfeit a $3,000 deposit, we were met with unnecessary comments and a level of aggression that felt unprofessional and unwarranted. It was especially disappointing given that we chose to work with her over many other options, expecting a level of trust and respect in return. We believe in accountability and were fully willing to take care of any legitimate damages....but respect and professionalism should go both ways. Based on this experience, we would not recommend doing business with Jin.
