Croissants were the bomb. My crepe is the best I have had and the rich, fruit-filled filling is decadent. The whipped cream tasted made from scratch. The fruit salad seemed more like a chutney than a traditional fruit salad. Stellar Mother's Day meal. If you haven't eaten here since the new owners took over, you definitely should go.

The venue is amazing! But the kitchen is the size of broom closet and has inadequate prep or planning area!

This home is special - it's exactly what you need and somehow it knows better than you do!

While the proprietress greeted us with friendly attitude, we soon learned that the living room was off limits due to some obscure reason, so we had to wait in our room prior to going out, and there was no breakfast. One had to contact her by text to have her prepare either a cup of tea or coffee, period! We never saw her after the initial greeting. We had to call her to find out checkout procedures since she was nowhere to be found, and she said we could leave or mail a check! The room was just ok, with plenty of out-of-date magazines to read. Getting in and out of the gate after hours was yet another hassle. It looked more like a work in progress than an established B&B. I would classify this place more as an Air B&B, as little is provided, and nothing is included in the price of stay. Better off to stay at a Day's Inn.

Lost a loyal 4-year customer in about the time it takes to check in…read more After a 13-hour drive to move my daughter into college, I discovered the hotel had kindly double-charged me, draining my account and bouncing my bills. Instead of solving the problem, management offered empty apologies, misinformation about how banks work, and the classic "just wait 5-7 days" solution. When I (reasonably) expressed frustration, I was accused of being aggressive and even told I could cancel--convenient advice, considering they were already holding nearly $900 of my money. As a bonus, they charged an extra $90 in incidentals after I explained I couldn't afford food or gas. Customer service innovation at its finest. The hotel itself was a marvel: elevators out of service, water outages two days in a row (always between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.--perfect timing if you like not showering), and construction crews loudly perfecting their profanity. Running water is apparently optional in the hospitality industry. Although management insisted a refund had been processed, I had to dispute the charge as fraud with my bank, who promptly credited me. That's what customer care looks like. Meanwhile, the hotel tried to charge me again for incidentals at checkout. Positives? The coffee was decent, the bed comfortable, and the renovated rooms easy on the eyes. Unfortunately, good coffee and new wallpaper don't cover for leadership that's allergic to accountability. I had planned to stay here regularly while visiting my daughter over the next four years. After this experience? No chance. Elevators can be fixed. Broken management cannot.

The bed was huge. The pillows were the best. I wanted to go right to bed. Nice size fridge in the room. No microwave, but I did not need one. Little dated but still nice for an overnight stay. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The lotion dispenser needed to be refilled. I slept like a baby. The staff was nice and very friendly. There is a restaurant on-site if you do not want to leave. They do offer a breakfast in the morning if interested. I'd stay here again.

Ledford Mill Bed and Breakfast - Rock wall in the creek room

Last Christmas my boyfriends mum bought us a gift card to stay one night at the Ledford Mill Bed…read moreand Breakfast in Wartrace Tennessee. We ended up redeeming the card on my Birthday in March. We hadn't really been on vacation since the previous Fall so we were excited about spending a night away from the same old, same old. The mill is not hard to get to, between Nashville, just past Shelbyville and before Tullahoma. If you're looking for an alternative to the tourist hotels in nearby Lynchburg you may want to consider the mill as your overnight location. We arrived later in the evening, probably after 4 in fact, and were greeted by Inn owner John Spear. He was just about to take one of the other guests on a tour of the mill, so we joined them! Everything was explained in detail, where the all access kitchen was, how our bathroom had all the original mill nuts, bolts, gears and wheels. We stayed in the Creek room, which has it's own private deck looking out of the woods, and is bigger than any hotel room I've ever stayed in. It has a giant clawfoot tub and the lofted area for the bed is built right in to the rock wall. This room and the Falls room are on the first level. The second level is an antique shop and the mills kitchen and dining area. The third level is Loft another guest room has it's own balcony. We were introduced to Tom Cruise. Yes Tom Cruise...the mill cat. An ancient feline who calls the mill home. He spent the entire night with us in our bedroom sleeping on the rug. If you don't like cats, it's easy enough to shove him out. We settled in for the night. The mill does not have television, dvds, or internet. It's quiet, extremely quiet. They do offer a vcr and television in each room and have a library of old VHS to pick from. We ended up using the claw foot tub, making ourselves dinner in the funky old kitchen and hanging out with Tom. The next morning I saw an owl flying around when I got up super early to the use the bathroom. There I am peeing and an owl is flying around the woods outside the window! We asked to have breakfast around 8am and right on time, John and his wife Mildred had cooked up some breakfast for everyone upstairs. A cheesy potato sausage dish, corn fritters and pineapple. Mildred is one of the funniest people I've ever met. The Spears are wonderful welcoming people with a wealth of knowledge about the area the mill is located in. After a lengthy breakfast discussion we went outside to explore the grounds. Tom Cruise followed us. We took the garden path from our back deck, that leads to the waterfall. The mill sits in a gully that stays quite cool in the hot months, and is situated over a creek. The creek flows through a wild garden area that leads to a huge rock waterfall. It's absolutely gorgeous, although I've added pictures to this review, I really think you have to go and see it for yourself. It's one of the more unique places I've ever been to, let alone slept in. I mean common an old mill, turned in to a bed and breakfast?! Super cool. PS. I heard recently that old Tom Cruise disappeared this past summer, and although he's done that before, they think this time it's for good. Maybe he went back to Hollywood.

I had asked her numerous times to marry me and she finally granted my wish. That vision of her lovely form framed by the beauty of the waterfall will forever be etched into my mind. Beds are not made and rooms are not cleaned on a daily basis. We asked for trash to be removed from the room and housekeepers ignored our request, we had to take the trash out of the room and dispose it in the trash cans located in the ice maker room by the elevator. We ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night that the room fare hajumped to USD299 per night. When we asked for housekeeping service and clean towels the manager said service was not available on a daily schedule and we would have to pay more it we wanted housekeeping service every day. Maintenance of the hotel was also poor, the air conditioning system was not working properly in the room. Hotel was understaffed. Front desk was often unattended and nobody answered calls. We travel a lot and never stayed in hotel without housekeeping service. We feel we overpaid to stay in a place that had the service of low quality motel. Do not recommend staying at this location!
