Although I have never been a bride, I have an avid love for evening and bridal couture...and am an…read moreover-the-top OCD Aunt who saw my niece's engagement as the perfect opportunity to live out my bridal dreams! When my niece recently said "yes" to her proposal, she selected a venue in high demand, and the available date gave her less than 8 months to plan her wedding. I rang The White Room after a bit of online research, and had several nervous, neurotic conversations with the fabulous ladies there. They were incredibly patient and gracious, clearly knowledgeable, and assured me they understood everything about my niece, her vision, my vision...and that they would take great care of my niece and were confident they would have "her" dress. They even made room for her appointment that very weekend due to timing. My niece and her lovely Mother arrived at the salon and the ladies of The White Room immediately got to work. The MOB texted me photos of each gown as they put her in gorgeous dress after dress. I could see by the photos that while she was focused, my beautiful niece was also having a wonderful experience - so important! While I can't reveal details here since it's pre-wedding, needless to say the ladies nailed it. Wouldn't you know it - the designer was the very one Cathy, owner of the salon, suggested in our first call! My niece, a true fashionista with very selective taste and who NEVER settles for less than perfection in everything, found her dress, absolutely knew it was "the one" - while the ladies helped her insure it was by going back to her other leading choice. Suddenly, my phone popped up with the photo of her in the dress and it was official! I popped a bottle of Veuve Clicquot in my kitchen several states away and celebrated! Her dress is absolutely perfect, as was her experience at The White Room, and I have no question that when it arrives from the designer, the final alterations process will go beautifully. I cannot thank or recommend The White Room highly enough. I may have been more invested emotionally in finding the right dress than the bride herself, and they delivered. After my niece happily left her appointment, Cathy showed the true grace of her family owned business, and rang me personally. She knew I was disappointed not to be there, and she shared details of the appointment with me, and related to me as an Aunt and again, assured me that my niece had chosen the perfect dress. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to the gracious Southern ladies of The White Room for their flair for the finest in bridal couture, right there in Alabama, and for their incredible graciousness. I can't wait to see my niece on her wedding day in the beautiful gown they helped her select. Top drawer all the way.

I love the atmosphere of the entire boutique, its small and has amazing natural light. The dresses are spaced out really well on the wracks so you can easily see the front and back of the dresses, its a dream when you compare it to shopping at the big box stores where they pack as much on to one wrack as possible! They have a great selection of dresses from a lot of well known designers like Haley Paige, Made with Love, Sarah Seven, etc. What really impressed me the most though were the employee's! I worked with Anna who was a lot of fun and had really good energy that matched our group. I picked a few dresses out myself and then she was able to make more suggestion based on the styles I had chosen. She ended up recommending the dress & veil that I purchased! I have no doubt that my pick-up experience will go just as smoothly as my 1st appointment. I would highly recommend that you make Village Bridal your first stop when you start dress shopping. I went in with an idea of what I was looking for, so she pulled me several dresses with that look. Turns out I didn't love the look that I thought I would. Rather than giving up on our search, Meredith told me that she had an idea and ran back to her inventory. Upon her return, she told me that the dress she had picked out for me to try next was A LOT different, but that I had to give it a chance. I went in saying that I wanted a sleeveless dress with minimal detailing and a low cut back. She came back with an entirely beaded dress with a highly detailed back. At first look, I thought she was crazy, but I tried it on and was surprised - this was the look I was going for, I just didn't know it! Thank goodness Meredith did. I now recommend Bustle to all brides and my friends who have taken that advice have been so happy they did!
