Did I mention the meat section? This place is a carnivores delight with a cured meat selection that took me two photos to capture and post on Yelp. The most incongruous site for me was the amount of Jamón ibérico hanging from a coat rack contraption. It kind of looks like some crazy Halloween costume. Anyway, just in case you need some it's available here. The people that work here are super friendly and very helpful. The produce guy recommended a few local items and weighed them for my wife...yeah he was FRIENDLY, in that Spanish machismo kind of way. I recommend you attempt a bit of Spanish and you'll win them over. The store is very hard to find even though it's on a main street in central Fuengirola. The GPS, with a charming British accent, had no clue how to get us there. There are few windows facing the main road and where there should be windows there is a grey marble wall. Be patient with all the roundabouts and pedestrians in this part of town and go slow. Parking is on the street but there is a secret parking lot supposedly that is free if you spend at least 6€ at the store. Prices are fair to cheap for the quality you get. We were able to find some delicious produce and we did buy plenty of cured meats. Great experience at the Supercor.

You will find everything; prepared food, fresh fish, bakery, vegetables, fruits, beer, wine, paper goods, canned goods of all sorts. OK it was…read moreMonday so most of the stalls were closed since many sold fish and they don't fish on Sundays but even then there were less than a dozen others that were open for business and no customers were present at nine in the morning. We also learned that the big flea market which includes vendors selling produce happens on Monday's east of old town so maybe this explains how dead this place was... Spend a couple of hours with the locals, just don't get in their way, exploring all the fabulous food the south of Spain has to offer. The Ratatouille in me is always in cheese heaven. SO many varieties of goat, sheep and cows cheese to choose from. I will never get through all of them. The incredible fresh seafood, many still gasping from their very recent plucking from their watery home. Vegetables so unbelievably fresh and beautiful. Spices. They were my main purchase this day. Why bother to fix true Spanish dishes unless you have a great selection of the appropriate spices. Spain, all the devine jamòn. Legs of various aging just waiting to be sliced just for you. Fresh meats that will have your head spinning- I don't know what to cook first. When traveling always check out the local market. Many stalls will offer samples to try. Other have items that can be prepared to travel home with. Some purchases just may not make it out the door they are so delicious. One last tip- go early in the morning 7-8 am for the best selection. And most markets close around 2 pm.
