If you have a hyper child who has outbursts of emotions and tests boundaries-- the director of this location will do whatever she can to label your child and call you after any incident to have child picked up for early dismissal. As parents we started believing that our child might have emotional delay and started getting help from the school district to early intervene. If you ask about their methods of dealing with unwanted behavior, you won't be able to talk to the teacher-- because only director can communicate with parents about any classroom issues. There is no consistency or any age appropriate methods to help guide your child. It's really scary that this place has such a "good reputation". Since we enrolled my daughter at another facility-- literally zero behavioral issues or complaints by the teachers or the daycare director, she's learning about her emotions, she's being guided instead of being labeled. She doesn't require additional learning support because her teacher is an educator who teaches her to manage her behavior and emotions. I know this place was not a right fit for my family-- and that's ok. However, a childcare facility SHOULDN'T ever be allowed to operate this way. As a parent, I have major trust issues after my experience with Hockessin KinderCare because I really hoped they had my child's best interest in mind. Instead, they are operating as a business and not an educational institution.

La Petite Academy has been so much more than just a daycare for us! Our first born has been there…read moresince he was an infant and is now in preschool. La Petite has been by our side to help us raise our confident, kind, and compassionate boy. Aside from the amazing teachers and classroom support, they also host activities such as trunk-or-treat and the garden party so the parents also have a chance to meet the other children in the classroom and their parents. They also provide parent teacher conferences so parents and teachers can discuss how to best support the growth for their child(ren). As a Mom, I really cannot express enough gratitude for the support, safety, and guidance we've had. We will now be enrolling our second child and looking forward to his growth within this center as well!

Hi, families/ parents!…read more My first son entered KinderCare learning center at Paxson Lane in Newark in 2018. At only five months old, I had many concerns sending my very vulnerable and non-speaking baby to a daycare center. My job leads me into many daycare facilities regularly. I can honestly tell you that many daycare facilities are poorly ran, unsanitary, and revolve with new staff constantly...but not this one. My son was instantly greeted with love, and compassion. I was a new parent sending my sweet baby into a building with a bunch of strangers. I couldn't think of anything more anxiety-provoking. I remember his first day, I called the center twice to check on my guy. Not only that, but they have an app where they post photos very frequently, and you can nearly see what your little one is doing all day. At the end of the day, you receive a full report of your babe. You see what they ate (or, in my case how many ounces of each bottle), diaper changes, and nap times and lengths of time. My sons first teacher became such a huge positive, loving, and educational person in his life. She is truly one of the sweetest people I can think of. I can honestly tell you that all five of the teachers that my son has been with have genuinely cared and loved him, and have strived to ensure he thrives. There was no hesitation to send our second son to KCLC at 12 weeks old, when I had to return to work. The center is genuinely a staff of family (not literally), but every single person that's there (I do know them all by name) is truly awesome. Their positivity, happy attitudes, and genuine commitment to serving our children are unlike anything I have seen at other daycares. There is truly no better feeling then dropping your child off in the morning and knowing that they will be cared for exceptionally. Both of my children are absolutely thriving and come home with new skills daily. The center has gone through so many changes with COVID, and they are going through so many extra steps to keep the children safe and sanitary. I could go on and on about our KCLC family, but I can assure you, you will not regret sending your child here.

We are thrilled to have our child at IMS West Chester, and plan to have her attend through her…read moreKindergarten years. As the school invests essentially all their resources in high quality education and teacher support/ training and an unmatched outdoor classroom, they barely advertise or do any marketing. It gives the school a "hidden gem" vibe. The education my children get in the toddler program is phenomenal, and glancing at the Kindergarten work of the older students gets me so excited for the future. I observe my toddlers' language skills sky rocket, practical life and sense of discipline is incredible, and daily engagement with the school gardens and farm life is simply delightful. I've also seen work samples of the older student's math, writing, geography, art ... it's impressive! I'm an early childhood educator myself, and the authentic implementation of the Montessori curriculum at IMS West Chester is beyond anything I've observed at traditional & Montessori schools in Washington DC, Wilmington, DE, and another West Chester Montessori school. As an educator, it's very important to me that my kids go to a school where both lead and assistant teachers are happy, have opportunities for professional development, are well supported when inevitable challenges arise, and stick around from year to year. IMS West Chester checks all those boxes! And it shows through the genuine love and dedication the children receive from all teachers. The cherry on top is the annual art show! The curation of children's independent and class wide art projects are so beautiful, and truly show the value of learning over the final product.

They let your child shadow another student for a day so my son got to attend class with his age group and wanted to switch schools that day.
