My only son's first experience with daycare took place at Goddard of Wilmington and I am so pleased…read morethat it did. I was very trepidatious about sending him to school out of our home, and am very new to the area, so finding the right place for him was a nerve-wracking process. The Goddard staff are patient, kind, and seem to genuinely care about him and his well being. His classmates are precocious, thoughtful, kind little people and Goddard is helping them thrive. Really terrific school with wonderful administrators (Lisa, Essence, and Payal, the owner) who are extremely hands on and involved with all aspects of the running of the school, and it shows. Teachers like Michelle, Kennedy and Asia are wonderfully gifted at engaging with children and bringing out the best in them.

Absolutely wonderful school, do not hesitate for a moment in sending your children here. Everyone…read morein the building from the owners to the teachers to the administrative staff are warm, caring, and totally focused on providing the best environment for children to learn and grow. It also always is amazing to us that they know and greet not only the kids, but each parent by name when you come for drop off or pick up. Leaving your kids to go to work each day can be hard, but attending this school made it so much easier and we never have to worry about their safety or well-being while they are here. Cannot say enough good things about this school.

My son went here for a little over two years. If my wife did not have to relocate because of a new…read morejob opportunity, we most likely would have kept him at this location until he was ready to begin kindergarten. The owner, Ms. Cindy, is very kind and reasonable. In addition, she is very knowledgeable in regards to early childhood education and has years of experience in the field. When he began attending this school, he was in the young toddlers classroom, before moving to older toddlers and then Get Set, which prepares three year olds for preschool. His most recent teacher, Ms. Kim, is a gem. She's been at the school for over 10 years and it is very apparent that she loves what she does. She's not one of those teachers who views it as a job to collect a paycheck. She obviously has a passion for working with toddlers, which is what you want when you're sending your toddler to a facility and you're relying on others to attend to them for 6-8 hours a day. When we were having issues with potty training, she gave us valuable tips that we practice successfully to this day. She also taught my son Spanish, among many other valuable things. If we could take her with us, we would. She is the epitome of what you want in a teacher at an early childhood learning center. While enrolled at the school, my son had an accident in which he broke his foot. I was irate as none of the teachers were able to explain how it happened. Ms. Cindy worked with us and we did not have to pay a dime for the medical expenses. There were a few other little mishaps that can be experienced at any childcare center. For example, we would send him with breakfast in bowls labeled with his name and during one week, not one bowl came home. This was frustrating because parents are required to label their child's belongings and you expect said belongings to be returned. The tuition is a bit costly and food is not provided. It's something to be mindful of if you're thinking about enrolling your child.

Goddard made our transition easy and enjoyable. We absolutely love it. The teachers are fabulous, the hours are great and our boys are progressing SO much. We also love the app that they use which allows us to see what they are doing each and every day. There is no better feeling than dropping your babies off, knowing that they will be safe and happy. I would highly recommend this center to anyone.

Ms. Liz the director is so hardworking and dedicated to the kiddos, and much more hands-on than I've heard of directors at other daycares. She is also super accessible and communicative. The teachers have all been great. The cost is extremely reasonable compared to other places and includes treats like music day, yoga (!), pizza day on Wednesdays, snacks, etc. I love that it feels like a small in-home daycare but has the resources of a larger chain daycare. The photos and videos through the brightwheel app make my day. They also make all kinds of holiday crafts with the kids to send home to us. I have my laminated mother's day handprint + photo hanging in my closet :) Also looking forward to someday taking advantage of the Parents' Night Out babysitting they occasionally offer. We made a great choice with SNT and I will be so sad when it's time for him to start kindergarten!

The toddler room was up to age 3. We began to realize that it became a revolving door of teachers, no consistency. Our child is a fast learner and would often get bored and start to act out, especially after her favorite teacher left and the new director started. The new director is a joke. We kept receiving calls to pick up our child, she's acting out, biting and that she's a danger to others. This is behavior she doesn't do at home. We were notified she was being kicked out, no notice. They told us that they don't have the time or resources to work with her. Honestly, it's a blessing she's out of that school. We feel our child was being singled out for being a smart toddler.

I will give a review in different subjects to conclude my rating…read more The Staff: Many of the staff have cliques and are quite segregated to their rooms. There would be a lot of gossip and between teacher to teachers, I remember the first week of working I would hear multiple teachers gossip between each other in front of a new employee. Even higher up staff would be unprofessional and talk about colleagues to staff that were not teachers. There was also favoritism at an all time high. Certain staff members could call out 4 times in a week without a problem and others could not and get consequences. Workplace Culture: When I worked full time, many days there would be 3-4 teachers calling out. Calling out is a norm at Newark Day. I remember working wondering if classes would have to be combined or separated each day, parents would be confused where their child would be each day if they were in Preschool Moons, Suns or Stars ( The classroom names). There would be times where I would be left alone over ratio'd waiting for another teacher and being told to wait due to figuring out other over ratio'd classes. This led to many teachers being miserable and overwhelmed throughout the whole day. Purpose: While being there I loved being with the children. I felt a purpose due to the children and being there for them and loving on them. I will say that NDN did give a budget for each classroom which gave us opportunities to rebuild and create a space for children. Positives: There was lunch provided, the rooms and the facilities are beautiful. Especially with the rooms for the older children, each room has sinks and plenty of room and toys. The manager did have a high expectation of having training and each and every requirement to be there. The management also did set a high standard on the quality for licensing and receiving high ratings. Negatives: The environment. Many of the staff were upset at the over ratio'd classes, lack of support and unsettling staff conditions with gossiping and favoritism in the workplace. The policies, when I did work at NDN the staff would implement policies to parents about their "Nut Free Policy". One of my colleagues was extremely allergic to nuts and had to go to the hospital multiple times due to the staff not emphasizing policies. I would not recommend working at NDNCC. I find that the environment and the staff are not worth the stress. If you do work at NDNCC be mindful of who you are with, many talk about each other and try your best. I often wonder if the parents know all of the details of NDNCC.
