The Value of Tile Specialists Inc. Floor Coverings in Champaign for Potential Clients:…read more May 17 was a windy day. I parked my car to pick up a few things at the Walmart in Savoy. After shopping and returning to my car, there was now a Tile Specialists truck parked next (right next) to my car, close enough that I could not open my door all the way to load my bags. And Lo and Behold! A new dent with red paint had appeared on my car door! The paint color in the dent just happened to match exactly with the red paint of the TSI truck next to me. Obviously, the TSI employee had flung open their passenger side door with no care taken on such a windy day and the door had slammed into my drivers-side door. No note, no apology or phone number, no nothing. Despite having sent them documentation and photos which portray their very obvious role in the damage inflicted to my car, TSI in Champaign refuses to lift a finger to help. I was advised that because of their cowardly refusal to take responsibility for their carelessness, I have to pay several hundred bucks for the repair out of my pocket so that it doesn't end up as a black mark against me with my insurance company. As you might imagine, I am extremely unimpressed with the ethics philosophy practiced by TSI. It's not just because I don't have an account set up to pay for accidents other people cause they they choose to not don't own up to. But I, myself, had been extremely careful that windy day to ensure that I didn't inflict similar damage to other people's cars. This is called common courtesy, and anyone else with the slightest class and decency would do the same. A community of potenial customers will not look on this behavior from TSI employees with a kind eye, especially in situations when TSI was given an opportunity to amend their mistake and chose not to. A business whose policy includes such blatant disregard for the personal property of others is not likely to take pride in their care of clients' property or deal respectably with their clients in other business matters. Take home point: doing your floors? Think long and hard before calling TSI. I will have dirt floors before I use them. And DEFINITELY dont park next to them if you can park somewhere else!
