I have not come here in the morning, but my son tells me it is always packed out. They are best known for their tacos... I am told they are better than at Stripes. I have only been twice, and both times just barely in time to order takeout. Both times I ordered the chile relleno plate as it is one of my favorite Mexican foods.
When I arrived, since it was so close to closing there were few people, and no lines. That was a plus for me. I placed my order at the counter and paid. The young lady who waited on me was very friendly and spoke English well enough, but I could tell it was a struggle for her, so I continued the conversation in Spanish. It turns out she is from the same state in Mexico where I lived 8 years as a teen. She asked me if I wanted the chile relleno of cheese, meat, or mixed. So, of course, I chose mixed!
As I waited for my food to be cooked, (yes, they made it fresh!), I looked around. The dining room is simple, like a diner. If you are looking for an elegant place for date night, I would choose somewhere else. However, Eddies strength is their great food at reasonable prices. I would add also, friendly service.
My to go box had a good sized chile relleno, rice, and some salad. No salad dressing, but they did include some tortillas (your choice of corn or flour) and a little container of delicious green salsa. Next time I'll ask for two of those! There was also a packet with a napkin, salt and pepper, and utensils. I hope to return at another time to try some other items on their menu.
The food was very good, the prices were reasonable, and the service excellent. Great location, lots of parking, the dining area appeared to be clean, though it could use to be updated.
