I was welcomed with a smile which i always appreciate. The worker was friendly and knowledgable. She gave me the impression that she is very proud to be working at Lilac Bakery (this is important). Everything was arranged really neatly, and looked so fresh. I picked up 8 cupcakes in a variety of different flavours. So far i've had the red velvet cake and it is totally to die for. Their are some unique flavors too like Toffee salted caramel and more etc. The Red Velvet cupcake was tasty and the Peanut Butter Cup one was decent. Then I also tried the Mini Eggs flavored Macaroon and the center was kind of hard so it was just okay. I absolutely loved the Raspberry Coconut Macaroon though because the filling in the center was softer and creamier. Then we ordered Earl Gray Tea Lattes and they were enjoyable. This place is a community favorite. It's a small place but they have a lot of heart. A lot of people order wedding cakes and other desserts for their parties here.

HEALTHY VEGAN CINNAMON ROLLS? *as seen on Shark Tank*…read more If you haven't seen their pitch I highly recommend it! Aside from that, this franchise is also located in Toronto. I really loved how light and flavourful cinnaholic is. They have a variety of unique flavours, and even let you customize your own. Feel free to add as many toppings because it's still healthier than the normal cinnamon roll. I tried the Cookie Monster, and Strawberry Cake flavour. Yes, I went back for more. The Cookie Monster is one of their most popular items, however, it is VERY sweet and that's coming from someone who has a strong sweet tooth. But it is exactly the sugar fix you need for a pick me up. I did prefer the Strawberry one as it wasn't as sweet as the first, but the crumble and frosting complimented it very well. What stood out the most to me was when we told the staff member my boyfriend was allergic to nuts, she really took that into consideration. In other words, she cleaned the surface entirely before starting to make our order and cleaned all her kitchenware. For as long as I've dated my boyfriend, no other food place has gone out of their to ensure our order was nut-free! SO THANK YOU!

The cake has a thin bottom layer of chocolate cake and filled with a semi-dense chocolate mousse/pate like interior. Hard to explain (look at the pic) as it had the texture of a cheesecake but it wasn't. Yeah, I know, bad explanation. Anyhow, the rest of the cake was covered with a dark chocolate ganache and topped off with white chocolate curls and strawberries. I loved that that the cake wasn't overly sweet. All the various forms of chocolate complemented each other and combined into a smooth and rich taste. You can always tell when a cake is make with quality ingredients and this cake is definitely up there with the best desserts I've tried. This cake is such a winner that I think it might be our family's go-to special occasion cake for the next while! Price wise, this place is on par with all the nice bakeries in the city - 6" for $28.00, 8" for $40.00, 10" for $48.00, 12" for $58.00. We got the 6 inch cake and it was more than enough for 6 people with a little leftover.

The restuarant itself has a patio out front and is quaint and cozy inside. Parking is a bit of an issue; but as is for many places on Corydon. One thing we didnt care for was we had to order first at the counter and didnt get table service. We felt table service would have bit more personable and added to our experience. The menu has a very good variety of reasonably priced healthy items. There is a good selection of vegan, dairy free, vegetarian, gluten free and options with meat for choosing. We ordered the vegan "cauliflower wings" to share which were amazing! My friend ordered the taco vegan salad and I had tofu "chicken" strips and fries. We both found the portions to be just right and both of our meals were very tasty. We absoultly loved the little addition of the fresh healthy vegan/gluten free/vegetarian bake shop and cooked items for purchase. I ordered a vegan date square to go post my dinner and my friend ordered the energy bites. We both found our desserts to be very yummy and again affordable.
