This is one of the oldest and most-referred consignment shops in the area. However, I believe this is due more to the fact that there are few to choose from than that they have good things to offer. Carolyn likes to be present when accepting new consignors... So requires scheduling an appointment- not unheard of. Where it fell flat for me was when she would not get off the phone to talk to me about the items I brought to consign. She rejected all of them (understandable to some extent- she is very overstocked at the moment and in between seasons, and I did not do my job of steaming/ironing everything before taking them to her). It was very frustrating, however, when I tried to talk to her about my items so I could be more knowledgable about what to bring in the future. When I started to ask if she had an idea when she would be available so I could talk to her about the items I brought in... I got about half way through the sentence before I just had to stop talking. I was met with such a blank, disregarding and annoyed stare that stopped me in my tracks and I realized she didn't want me there, so I definitely didn't want to be there either! I had to feel sorry for the person on the phone too, because she continuously talked to me with her mouth still directed to the mouthpiece on the phone, so that I didn't know if she was talking to me or them!
