I was excited to see that the Lion King was playing at the Providence Performing Arts Center! The theater is very easy to get to and there is a ton of parking nearby. Admissions was swift and not crowded - they definitely are organized and know how to keep the traffic moving. They sell various snacks and some are even locally made like the popcorn I bought. The venue itself is beautiful, especially the theater. The seats are as you would expect - velvety and small. The sound and lights were great. I really enjoyed the show. I will say that at times, I felt distracted - it seemed like the audience was louder than I expected - especially with the snack bags. Oh well, what can you do At intermission the women's bathroom was a little bit of a you know what. But this seems to be a common problem with older theaters. Regardless, I had a great time and would def come back to see another show!

The entire cast & production team brought incredible energy & authenticity to the stage, making the story feel both intimate & universal. Founded in 1990, JCT has been going strong for nearly 30 years, providing residents of Jamestown and beyond the opportunity to perform, create, and attend high caliber Broadway-style musicals. This was my second time performing with this company - I played the Leading Player in last fall's PIPPIN the Musical, and couldn't wait to return for the spring show this year. That's truly a testament to the warm and welcoming environment of this professionally run company. As an actor, I love how JCT strikes a great balance in rehearsals between working hard and having fun. I have made a handful of lifelong friends and theatre collaborators from my involvement with the company, and for that, I could not be more grateful! Ricky, the director I have worked with both times, is an absolutely fantastic, kind, and brilliant soul who any actor would be lucky to work under. Everyone I've met here puts 100% of their time, talent, and energy into making the productions the best they can be. If you have the chance to see or be a part of a JCT show, please take it! You'll be so glad you did!

Classes with Amanda have always been great. She's an experienced teacher and she can teach you skills fast - you'll be up in the air before you know it. It's not easy and not for the faint of heart, but boy is it fun. And it makes you super strong. There are adult class for beginners, intermediate, and advanced, every night of the week. My friends always ask if this is like the aerial yoga they have in Cranston, and I tell them "not really!" Aerial yoga is basically the bastard child of yoga and aerial silks. I love yoga, and I love silks, but so far I haven't tried to combine them. If you want the REAL aerial experience, if you want to actually get up high in the air, this is the place to come! They're offering free trial classes for the month of February at the new East Greenwich facility, so there's no reason not to try it. At least you can say that you tried it once!
