This place is a little ways away from most of "the action", has plentiful on-site parking, and combines coffee shop + bakery + general store in one location. The store is relatively new to West Jefferson and opened within the last few years. It's family owned and operated, and the staff members who were working on the day of my visit could not have been lovelier. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because I felt like the selection of merchandise in the general store was not as eclectic as most general stores I've visited. The majority of the merchandise either fell into what felt like a "live, laugh, love" version of a feminine / children's esthetic, or was downstairs in a section literally called "the man cave". With so many amazing local merchants and artists throughout the West Jefferson community, it would have been nice to see a few more options that fell between these two groups and were maybe a bit more neutral. While I very much enjoyed exploring the store and looking through everything, when it came time to actually purchase something for myself or to use as a gift, I really couldn't settle on anything that would be a good fit.

It's unique and separate from the rest of historic downtown West Jefferson which makes it an easy recommendation to anyone looking for gifts.

This shop seems to have limited hours so I've been following them on Facebook to see when they are open. Today was the day I've been waiting for and oh my, it was well worth the wait. Cute, creative, amazing variety of products well displayed. There are several small rooms packed with merchandise you don't typically see in your regular retail shops. I revisited several of the rooms and each time discovered something new. I gained permission to take pictures so everyone could get a better idea about what is available here. Today they had fresh roasted peanuts that I'm sure was a big hit. Also, customers bringing in at least 2 cans of food today to be donated to the local food pantry received a 20% discount on purchases. So, not only does this business offer a great shopping experience they care about their local community as well. I'm looking forward to returning and taking friends there to shop.

I've been to habitat it has some nice stuff but it is really overpriced on some of the things but…read moremy major thing is there was a young lady that work there she worked hard she was diligent she just had a hard time getting to work on time because she had obligations at home they could have changed her schedule to where it would work for her and she would still be working these times and days people should not have to go without a job because of situations at home that keep them from making it to work on time there are people out here that have jobs that don't do nothing they sit around and twiddle their thumbs and get their money from doing nothing absolutely nothing this young lady I watched her one day she stayed busy she is she straightened she did hard work for them but yet they threw her to the side like she was nobody I really feel like that that was the wrong move because she was a dedicated employee only thing wrong was sometimes she was late and that's a nice way to thank people for working hard and keeping your store straight and clean for your customers
