I hate to write this review but after what happened today, unfortunately I need to. I called Caroline's on Saturday to ask if it would be possible to have two baskets for my job be ready by Tuesday morning around 9. I was told they checked and they were good to be picked up then. Fast forward to today, I get to Caroline's a little after 930, imagine my surprise when the woman behidn the counter tells me not only are the baskets not ready, they won't be ready for at least 2 hours. This isn't what upset me, listen I understand that things happen. What is insanely unprofessional is the fact that I arrived at my office about 7 minutes from Caroline's and she is on the phone with my coworker saying the baskets are ready. I was not told to wait for them, I was told they would need TWO MORE HOURS. I had to spend most of my day running around in circles back and forth when all of this could have been avoided if she asked me to wait 10 more minutes. I am extremely unhappy with the service and unfortunately I don't think I'll be choosing Caroline's anymore. read more

I am giving 2 stars because the flowers were beautiful but the service was disgraceful. When my now husband and I began planning our wedding last year my friend highly recommended this shop, and I was thrilled with the experience and pricing I received after meeting with Tina in November 2023. However, every experience after was more disappointing than the last. In the weeks leading up to my wedding all my vendors reached out to confirm details, receive final payment, etc. When our wedding date was under two weeks away and we still had not heard from their shop I began to reach out to them. After multiple attempts I was eventually able to get in contact Tina and informed that I would need to come to the shop to go over final details and submit final payment. While extremely inconvenient as I do not live on Long Island, my then fiancé and I made the trip out there. Imagine my surprise when my final bill was $500 more than the agreed upon contract signed in November. It was only when I was able to produce my inventory list and receipt that Tina fixed the issue. Another issue that arised during this same appointment was that I needed my bouquets for pictures at 7:30am and vendors were not allowed at the venue until 11:00am, so there needed to be 2 trips made. Tina asked me if there was anyone that can come pick up the flowers on the way to the hotel at 7:30am. That was very inappropriate. It is their job to deliver the flowers. They also charge a delivery fee just for that. When I said that there was no one available, Tina then said she would figure it out. On my wedding day, as I was supposed to be getting ready and enjoying my time with my mom and bridal party who had traveled from multiple states, I again had to reach out to Tina. The flowers delivered to the hotel, while beautiful, were missing my bridal charm, that held a picture of my recently deceased grandparents. Tina stated that she would attach the charm at 11am when delivering my centerpieces and ceremony flowers. I understand that mistakes happen and agreed that this was an acceptable solution. My husband and I agreed to take our pictures before the ceremony to optimize the time with our guests. However, as we were taking pictures, I begin getting calls from a concerned event coordinator because the ceremony is scheduled to begin in 10 minutes and the flower delivery has not yet arrived. In what should have been my final minutes getting ready and cherishing this experience, I was again forced to call Tina who told me that she was "down the block and less than two minutes away." Being that we had spent $300 on ceremony flowers, and I still did not have my bridal charm, we decided to wait. Tina did not arrive until over twenty minutes later, almost 15 minutes after my ceremony was scheduled to begin. Ultimately, with the added time for set-up, our ceremony began twenty minutes late. That's an extra twenty minutes of my guests sitting in direct sunlight on an extremely warm day, wondering what is going on and if something is wrong, all because your shop was over an hour late on the delivery. This was by far the worst experience we had with any vendor. I hope they do better for future couples. read more

If you live in Islip, this is your florist. Jane has been a florist for decades and runs a wonderful shop. The arrangements last a very long time and they are beautiful. It doesn't matter if you are ordering a simple arrangement or if you are planning a large wedding. She will not disappoint. Jane did all the flowers for my wedding several decades ago on Fire Island, and she still does weddings there. She also has many gift ideas other than flowers in her quaint little shop across from the Methodist Church on Main. I recently received a large floral arrangement sent from a friend who used Caroline's. It is the most beautiful and fresh flower arrangement I have ever received. The flowers are unique and it is rare to get beautiful, healthy blue hydrangeas in March. The roses are all opening, the greenery is beautiful and modern looking. I have been ordering flowers online through 3rd parties for decades. I have never had an issue with any arrangement. I ordered the premium arrangement with 2 Mylar balloons for the birth of our first great grandchild. When my grand daughter sent me the picture to thank us I was taken back. I called Caroline's and was told that our arrangement basically was downgraded because it's near Mothers Day and flowers are expensive. She said she personally tied the balloons to the flowers so she couldn't understand what happened to them. When I spoke to Teleflora, they agreed that the arrangement was not up to their standards for the premium that I ordered. I filed a complaint with them against Caroline's and they will escalate the matter. When I called Caroline's back the manager there was extremely rude and spoke over me. She said the driver lost the balloons when he opened the door of the vehicle. I asked her to get new balloons out to the hospital and she said she'd try. She'd try, they are literally down the street. She also said flowers were expensive and I should have gone directly through them and I would have gotten a better arrangement. Really? That's your excuse? Thanks a lot I am over 2000 miles away and Caroline's ruined a beautiful moment for us. I would never do business with Caroline's ever. The manager explained that it was my fault for using a 3rd party (Teleflora). read more

Update to review dated 8/29/24. When I received my credit card bill, the total charged was $182 and change. I spoke with Karen at Carolines Flower Shoppe to ask for a breakdown. She advised there was a $10 delivery fee and a 3.5% fee for using a credit card in addition to tax. (Additional fees not shown on website or discussed when I placed the order). She also said she would discuss my disappointment with the flower arrangement with the owner and get back to me. Karen did call back and explained that the website I used: CarolinesFlowerShoppe.net was not their official website and they needed to investigate why that shows as a website for them. In the end, the owner agreed to refund of $50. So I am upgrading my review to three stars. Karen explained they do a lot of funeral work and want customers to be satisfied. If you do order flowers from them, do not use the .net website as the information on it is evidently not accurate. read more

Caroline's Flower Shoppe did all of the floral arrangements for my Fire Island wedding. Every single arrangement was absolutely beautiful!! My bouquet was out of this world! I sent a few inspirations pictures over to their team handling my wedding and asked them to decorate my reception, ceremony, create my bouquet and create the boutineers. When I showed up to my ceremony and reception I was nothing but blown away with all of the floral arrangements! I went in yesterday- it was Easter sunday and I needed a flower arrangement to bring because we were going to visit the new baby born to the family in Southside hospital- so this was on the way in that cute village section of Islip and I ran in real quick. The woman that helped me asked what id like to spend and I had no idea- I had a little cash and a card on me. I told her something simple and not to crazy because it is just a gesture to go with something else I had for them and told her to do what she thinks IF I told you what I paid for what she did, the amount of care and thought she put into it Id be afraid they would go out of business doing favors lol. I considered it a random kindness that she just felt like going out of her way in light of the new Easter baby newborn this arrangement was going to. I found it in good taste, and good business that she chose to put her heart into it for basically whatever cash in my pocket. I had a card, she knew that and could have charged me 45 bux for what she made and trust I would have paid it no problem. Also, they had little toys they were giving to the children of people that came in- also a nice touch. Oh and I liked the music in there- summer breeze by seals and croft is a great song to play inside of a little whimsical flower shop on a sunshiny Sunday lol. (I know super corny... but Im big on back round music it can make or break an establishment!). Thats my take in the place...I don't know much about flower arrangements in life to comment in very much else technical where flowers are concerned, but the experience was pleasant and they went above and beyond and what I got was really cute so they get a five out of me for sure read more

Staff is helpful and friendly and when given creative freedom always make a beautiful bouquet. On Valentine's Day they had a bucket of bottled beer on ice for the endless flow of men doing the old school romance thing. If that doesn't score points I don't know what ever could. read more

I have come to Caroline's for over a year now and I am ashamed I have not written a review sooner. They have a very friendly staff of talented florists who create beautiful, unique bouquets. I have gotten everything from centerpieces for holidays, birthday bouquets, and hostess gifts here. They have a high turnover (ie- not too many premade bouquets waiting to wilt on you). I have seen their bouquets last quite some time, too, so I know their flowers are fresh. I would call ahead, though, and/or be prepared to wait (not long, about 30 minutes at most) for their creations. It is well worth it. Price wise they are about average for a good florist with solid, beautiful creations. They are honest and will work with any budget to achieve your vision. I don't usually right reviews but I had to mention that this florist is amazing. I would give them 10 stars if yelped allowed. My step father passed away and my family was in need of funeral arrangements. It was my job to take care of the flowers. I researched a few local florists & had called another florist in a timely manner before the services. Long story short the florist we originally used texted us pic proofs morning of services of the completed pieces. The arrangements were horribly unprofessional, flowers were wilted & they looked nothing like what was ordered from their website. This was appalling & disappointing to myself & grieving mother. I immediately called locally to Caroline's. We choose arrangements from their website. Not only were their prices fair but the girl that answered the phone was polite, understanding of my situation & reassuring that they had enough time to complete our order to deliver the arrangements before the services began. She even gave me her personal cell # for me to send all the info we needed to complete the order to speed up the process. She also text me when they were on the truck for delivery well before the services began. This was a relief & above all very sweet of her. The arrangements were even better then the pics on the website . The flowers were beautiful, fresh & the endearment ribbon on the arrangement was perfectly placed. Very professionally done. I used this Flower shop on the recommendation of a LI Funeral Home and I was not only "not disappointed," but I was truly blown away by both the incredible customer service and attention to detail, as well as both the casket spray and silk heart pillow they made. The designer I spoke to, Tina, spent time over the phone and truly "got" exactly what I was looking for. Her arrangements were absolutely spectacular, elegant and stood head and shoulders above even some of LI's more pricey well known florists standard funeral sprays in that room. I will never go anywhere else, and hope I am back on LI soon to go visit their shop which sounds amazing, and thank each and every one of them in person. Caroline's did the flowers for my wedding this past weekend on 11/25/16, and they were WONDERFUL! I was so excited about the flowers, and they were everything I wanted - the bouquets were beautiful, the boutonnières were lovely and unique, and all the table arrangements were perfect. They also made an absolutely stunning piece for the fireplace mantel inside the venue - we were married in front of the fireplace with this piece, and it just made our ceremony that much more beautiful. Throughout the process, Caroline's was helpful and accommodating, and their prices were so reasonable. I could not believe how much wedding flowers cost, but Caroline's offered fantastic prices with excellent work. I ordered my wedding flowers from the shop for my wedding this January. My #1 request was for white roses, which made up the bulk of the order. They never ordered the white roses. This order was picked up by my parents (it was a destination wedding and I was already at the destination), and I did not get a refund as they told my parent's they had no idea what the charge for the roses was for this order (so is this not a real business, they can't even look up an order?). So the bulk of my order was never received, although I paid in entirety. I also ordered all the bouquets from here but they were not really reflective of what we talked about with the florist who was supposed to do my flowers; I think she was out partying and someone else at the shop had to fill in and put something together, so I guess I'm lucky I had anything. (I am only guessing this because my mom had scheduled an intermediate meeting with this florist and she had to cancel it for this same reason). Altogether disappointment and rip-off; it makes me sick to my stomach every time I think about it. Needless to say I didn't even keep my flower bouquet to preserve, I threw it out promptly and never want to think about it again. Luckily my sister hadn't put any deposit down for her own wedding; she of course will not be using this shop. read more

They really know how to put together the most beautiful pieces. For my bridesmaid bouquets I knew exactly what I wanted and they were perfect.
