Primarily 7th and 8th graders attend this intermediate school. They just built an Edenvale Community Center next to it and I believe the Boys and Girls Club has been renovated here and there. I remember like it was yesterday when I went here running on the track around the school for cross country, but it has literally been a decade since I've gone here. Forming a team to spend a day in a tent on the track supporting Relay for Life with friends and strangers. I could remember dressing up for physical education through the purple doors with our lockers. Girls on the right side and boys on the left. Lining up on our numbers while Mrs. Staggs or Mr. Coleman or Mr. Carroll did attendance then telling us to go run the "Carroll Run" around the perimeter of the black top, to the track, the grassy area, and back to the beginning. I remember hanging out in the "quad" area with the cool kids during breaks and lunch. Getting in line for food right after we got out of class into either the cafeteria or outside to get snacks. It was really the carefree times. Many people may think Davis isn't a good school based on what they've heard, but teachers are wonderful. They really try to help you succeed and prepare you for high school. Many good and bad memories with great teachers here. Counseling and office staff were friendly. I was even was counseling assistant for a semester for Mr. Delcrew. I remember having Mr. Nichols/Mrs. Meier for language arts. Mr. Conwell for keyboarding class. Mrs. Williams for cooking. Mr. Morgan for piano. Mrs Lawrence/Mr. Weiler for science. Mrs. Flores for social science. Mr. Hughes for pre-algebra. Mrs. Bierman for algebra. Mrs. Shilov for history. Mrs. Perry/Ford for reading. Plenty of teachers I remember, but surely don't remember me since it has been 10 years or might not even be at the school anymore. I even remember getting detention for the most idiotic thing. It was a time when we weren't allowed to wear gang colors blue or red (probably worse now with all the mayhem happening or same rules apply), but also not allowed to have logos or pictures on our shirts. I had a baby blue shirt on with an angel in the center. I had to go to the office to change into a rather large ugly lost and found shirt. Embarrassing. Disgusting. Fun times. Worse memory was stopping class for several periods to watch television in class while 9/11 happened in New York. It was just a shocking and devastating moment in our lives. Overall, I miss it! Parents please Pay attention to my review. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL !!!!!! This school is by far the very worst school I've ever had to deal with. We move the the area and unfortunately my son had to attend this school not knowing this was going to turn into our worst nightmare it started all by my son getting bullied and the principal didn't do anything neither did MR.Rodriguez I contact them multiple times to let them know I even had to call San Jose police because my son was being punch, pinched and called all kinds off names by this fucker and they wouldn't do anything this kids took stuff from him and never returned it and one of the people at the office mention that one time I kid lost his backpack for more then a week also and they wouldn't do anything about it not to mention this kid lost this backpack by the same kids , it was all a group of 12/13 kids all together who were bulling. So I went to the district smh also lost a lot of days of work for nothing they didn't do anything they send me back to the principal to try to find a solution never did, she never reached out to me at all and when I decided to call sj police department she told them she had never heard of this problem before when I sat down in her office two times to "try to find the so cal solution". So I decided to not sent my kid to school as he didn't feel safe there at all I have pictures of all the text messages he sent me saying "mom I wanna go home I don't feel safe here this kids hits me every time he sees me" also have the police report and all that is included. TODAY the graduation day they could notify me that my son could participate in the graduation ceremony not to mention my son struggled alot with his grades going down cus of this kid so after all this hard work at home with him home schooling and testing he did picked up his grades and all for them not to count him for the graduation ceremony. Thanks alot Mr.Rodríguez for not letting me know of this very important day that my son was not a part of it as they told me today at the office you mention my son but never called us to let us know so thanks for doing your so call job. hope your kids never go thru something like this. I'm glad school year is over this means our nightmare with David's has ended and I hope my son can recover and can move on from this trauma so he can continue a normal school year David's you have traumatized my son. never I'm my life I will let any of my family members come to your school. I was a student on 2016-2018? And I was a student who didn't know any English but did had teachers who knew Spanish and they are all horrible, all the teachers from those years who knew Spanish did NOT provide me the help I needed whatsoever, now that I know English and understand how bad I was treated and I'm complaining because I'm scared this might be happening to any students who are learning English right now, teachers which I won't give names would give a whole lesson to the classroom on what to do in English then on the last 20 mins of the class would hand me a tablet to use google translate to translate all the papers to English to then do the assignment IN English, the worst part is that teachers that did that to me knew Spanish and would talk to their other students in Spanish in a playful way but when i had questions they would avoid me. There was also an INSANE amount of teachers who would be racist to me or be ignorant to me just because I didn't know English. I am one of the many students who suffered throughout those years and many of my friends who I attended with to Davis have the same experiences we had with those certain teachers and the worst part is that THOSE so loved teachers where the ones that discriminated us the most. Don't get me wrong some teachers and experiences where great but I feel like teachers who do know Spanish need to use that to help younger generations to get a great welcome to the US, some people need to understand kids who come to your classroom are hoping they'll have a good experience and us having to get bullied or suffer from discrimination just because we don't know English is adding trauma. Say I'm exaggerating or call me dramatic but nobody should be treated that way specially by teachers who are hired with one of their skills being bilingual. read more

I went there are so did my sister when she would walk around with her boyfriend holding hands they never said anything and when her friends would walk around holding hands (they both were girls) they gave them what they called a "stay away contract" I also came to the school about a kid who was bullying me all they did was put me in counseling and that was it the principal at the time never did anything all of the responsibilities were placed on the vice principal. One of the pe teachers not only took my phone but also read my notifications it wasn't the fact the he read my notifications it was the fact that he read personal messages that came up and told me that he only saw because my phone turned on but he had my phone facing downwards so how could he see unless he turned it over read more

Former student from 2013-2015. It doesn't bring the greatest feeling of safety because the dodgy neighborhood. If you want to call it ghetto, then that's probably your word. There have been constant phone calls home warning students to walk home in pairs because students were approached by suspicious men and even touched. However, most of the teachers are great. Most of mine were very motivational and eager to teach their students. Some can't get ahold of the class at all, which makes us students who want to learn, miss out on the education. - - I wasn't in the band class but if you're up for rehearsals, it's a great opportunity to be taught by the great Mr. Morgan. (Sadly, I've heard he'll be retiring in 2 years.) They even go on musical trips to places like Great America or Six Flags if the class raises enough money from the fundraisers. Some of my favorite teachers: -Mr. McCleary (history) -Mr. McCleary (science) (^brothers) -Mr. Morgan (band, piano lab) -Mr. Coleman (P.E.) Office ladies aren't the best. I stood in front of them saying "excuse me" several times for 5 minutes while they conversed with the principal about the office TV. If you're going here, keep your head in the game. I attend here during 1998-1999 and I might added that I surely did miss all the good times here :) I didn't like the dress code that they enforced because I was always getting into trouble wearing blue or even a shirt with a logo. I am now a mother to a middle schooler and I wish they had the same strict dress code for her just like I did. It will help the school a lot read more

Came here 2 weekends ago to walk in the Relay for Life. I thought it was a great location to host the event.

the place is horrible. the school is way to small for a middle school, there sporting teams are really bad, and they are only good at track and field. i am disappointed at how ugly this school is. if you are looking for a middle school, go to bernal. bernal is way more better. they have high quality items, unlike davis. there computers actually work. read more

Terrible school. We had so many problems here. They principal is awful. Just don't do it if you can get your kid into another school.
