I had to arrange for services from a distance at first and Emma was amazing, sensitive and caring not to mention on top of her game. It's not very easy dealing with the death of a loved one but when our dad passed away we had to make arrangements -something that we were not completely familiar with. Emma made everything smooth and easy and when I checked in on progress she was always two steps ahead of me! The Funeral home itself was inviting -has a fireplace and lounge area when you walk in and then there are several different rooms where visitors can meet with the family. Including a small break room area where there is coffee and tea. There was also a chapel which is basically like being in a church with pews and everything and high ceilings. We had our services there and it turned out beautifully. Emma also was quick to act on furnishing any last minute details we requested. To be honest it's not cheap having a funeral anywhere you go These days and the price point is very similar. With that I'm glad we got the best services for our money with Emma at Hankins. We were very happy despite the circumstances.

From flowers, to chapel, to repast, Kristina was right there for us every step guiding and assisting. I can't thank Kristina enough for making sure that my sister had a lovely celebration of life. I would highly recommend this establishment.

I ran across 2 negative reviews today regarding Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory…read more First of all, I can say without hesitation, if there was ever anything to complain about all you would need to do is call Mike Cook or his son, Michael. They are both absolute professionals in every sense of the word. They would listen politely and carefully to every thing you had to say, and then they would address whatever issue there was and take the appropriate action to resolve it in a professional manner. They are lifelong residents of Mooresville and have built a solid business and even better reputation of Trust & Honesty. Unfortunately, I lost my son, suddenly & unexpectedly, in September of 2022. I called Mike and he immediately started making arrangements to handle ever single thing that needed to be done. He and his entire staff followed up with me throughout the whole process to make things easier and give my son the quality funeral that he deserved. They even contacted me throughout the next year to make sure that I, and my family, had everything that we needed from them in death certificates, autopsy reports and even grief support, etc. They were all very understanding, sympathetic and compassionate to all of our concerns for the funeral and afterwards. I'm not sure that you can get that kind of service anywhere else. So, in closing I can say that I hope that you never need their services, but, if you do, you can expect the absolute most caring, compassion, and professionalism from everyone at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. I would give them 10 stars if I could! **********

This review is a friendly reminder that when you have the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory logo…read more(and corresponding contact info) represented on the company van you are driving to a charity event, it is probably a wise idea not to drive like a complete asshole. I witnessed your company van aggressively- and quite intentionally - force its way in between two vehicles that were in line for the Drive Through Holiday Balloon Glow event that raised 2.5 tons of food and supplies for the Statesville community. Your aggressive driving maneuver nearly caused a crash that could have directly negatively impacted the success of this charity event. The event was advertised as 5:00-6:00; however, the traffic getting in was crawling, and some drivers were certainly getting impatient as 6:00 came and went with little movement. That was no excuse, however, to drive like you were somehow more important than everybody else in line that night. As I fully expected, the balloons all stayed, and everyone who was in line got to see them, and hopefully donate! But I'm guessing you probably just came for the show. I have found in life that the way that a person drives is generally a pretty valid reflection of their character. And when that person is driving the company van, that character assessment naturally extends to the company. Based on what I saw that night, there's no way I would ever seek, nor recommend your business. I mean....cutting in line at a charity event?! Who does that!? Do you also steal little kids' ice cream cones when they aren't looking?

There is also a scatter garden for those who wish to scatter cremated remains. Of course, it is an active cemetery with families laying their beloved to rest so please be respectful.
